Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk: 1) Mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah menengah pertama antara yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik dan pendekatan RME, 2) Mengetahui respon siswa terhadap matematika antara yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik dan pendekatan RME. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dimana desain kelompok tidak diatur oleh peneliti dan subjek yang diambil adalah siswa kelas VIII dengan sampel sebanyak dua kelas. Dengan menggunakan instrumen tes dan non-tes berupa angket dan lembar observasi peneliti melakukan tes sebanyak dua kali yaitu pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas yang mendapatkan perlakuan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan RME dan kelas yang mendapatkan perlakuan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik, 2) Kedua kelas eksperimen menunjukan respon yang positif dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik maupun pembelajaran dengan pendekatan RME. ..... Research was conducted for: 1) Knowing the diffrence of increasing the ability of critical thingking of junior high school students among those who learned by scientific based approach and RME based approach, 2) Knowing the response of students to learned mathematics among those who learned by scientific based approach and RME based approach. Research was adapting the quasi experiment method, which the group of class is not setting by researcher and subject who was taken is the students at grade 8th as many as two class. Use the test instrument and non-test instrument (quistionnaire and observation thread), researcher conducted the test 2 times, pretest and posttest. The result refered: 1) there are significant diffrence of increasing the ability of critical thingking among those who learned by scientific based approach and RME based approach, 2) Both of class among those who learned by scientific based approach and RME based approach refered a positive response.
