    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks berita, serta adanya anggapan bahwa menulis menakutkan dan sulit untuk dikuasai. Siswa kerap mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan judul, penggunaan bahasa yang tidak tepat, serta siswa belum sepenuhnya memahami cara menentukan unsur dan struktur teks berita. Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya variasi metode dan media pembelajaran yang menarik. Maka dari itu, metode edutainment berbantuan media multiplatform IDN Times diterapkan sebagai solusi untuk menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa secara efektif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan awal dan akhir siswa dalam menulis teks berita di kelas eksperimen dan kontrol, serta mengukur perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan menulis siswa di kelas eksperimen menggunakan metode edutainment berbantuan multiplatform IDN Times dengan siswa di kelas kontrol menggunakan metode terlangsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Ciwidey. Sampel yang dipilih dalam penelitian terdiri dari kelas XI – D sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI – E sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes awal dan akhir, observasi, serta angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik dengan bantuan SPSS versi 30. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,012 < 0,05, sehingga hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa yang mendapat perlakuan metode edutainment berbantuan multiplatform IDN Times dengan siswa di kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode terlangsung. This research is motivated by the low interest and ability of students in writing news texts, along with the perception that writing is intimidating and difficult to master. Students often face challenges in determining headlines, using appropriate language, and understanding the structure and elements of news texts. These difficulties are caused by the lack of varied and engaging teaching methods and media. Therefore, the edutainment method supported by the multiplatform media IDN Times is applied as a solution to create a fun learning atmosphere and effectively improve students' writing skills. This study aims to describe the students’ initial and final abilities in writing news texts in both the experimental and control classes, and to measure the significant differences between the two. The research uses a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population consists of 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Ciwidey, with class XI-D as the experimental group and class XI-E as the control group. Data collection techniques include pre-tests and post-tests, observation, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using statistical tests with the aid of SPSS version 30. The results show a significance value of 0.012 < 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted while the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. There is a significant difference in the news writing skills of students who were taught using the edutainment method supported by the IDN Times multiplatform media compared to those taught using conventional methods.
