    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep
    pecahan yang dimiliki siswa kelas IV SD Negeri yang ada di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota
    Bandung. Hal ini ditandai dengan 59% siswa belum paham mengenai konsep pecahan.
    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika
    dengan menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual pada siswa tentang materi pecahan, (2)
    mendeskripsikan peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa tentang materi pecahan
    menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual. Untuk dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut agar
    melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam pembelajaran pendekatan yang digunakan dalam
    penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan dalam
    penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart.
    Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 27 orang. Hasil temuan
    yang didapat oleh peneliti dengan menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual dalam pembelajaran
    matematika materi pecahan menunjukkan peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Siklus I yaitu
    76, dan siklus II yaitu 86,1. Persentase ketuntasan pada siklus I 74%, dan siklus II 93%.
    Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahawa penerapan pendekatan
    kontekstual dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep
    pecahan siswa di SD Negeri yang ada di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung yang
    dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. ----------This research is based on the lack of understanding ability of fraction concept
    owned by the fourth grade students of state elementary school located in Kecamatan
    Sukasari Bandung City. This is indicated by 59% have not understood fraction concept.
    This reaserch is aimed at (1) to describe the implementation of learning mathematic with
    applies contextual approach on the students on fraction materials. (2) to describe the
    improvement of students conceptual understanding on fraction materials by using
    contextual approach. For solving that problem the student is involved more active in the
    learning process the approach which is used in this research is contextual approach. The
    method which is used is the class action reaserch by using Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model.
    The participan in this reaserch the fourth grade students that is about 27 students. The result
    which is obtained by the researcher by using contextual approach in the mathematic
    learning in fraction materials shows the improvement in each cylce. Cylce I is 76 and cycle
    II 86,1. The completeness percentage in cycle I is 74% and cycle II is 93%. Based on the
    data of this reaserch result can be concluded that The Application of Contextual Approach
    in Mathematic Learning Can Improve The Understanding Fraction Concept Material in
    Stated Elementary School Located In Kecamatan Sukasari Bandung City. Which is proved
    by the impovement of student learning result.
