Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kreatif serta sikap siswa SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol tidak ekuivalen. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Sambas Kalimantan Barat. Dalam penelitian ini dipilih dua kelas sebagai sampel penelitian yaitu kelas eksperimen yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual dan kelas kontrol yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional; 2) Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis (Tinggi, Sedang, Rendah); 3) Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis (Tinggi, Sedang, Rendah) 4) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional; 5) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis (Tinggi, Sedang, Rendah); 6) Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis (Tinggi, Sedang, Rendah); dan 7. Sebagian besar siswa menunjukkan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran kontekstual.; This research aims to examine the differences enchancement of mathematical communication ability and creative thinking and attitudes students. This research used a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group. The subjects were eight grade students in a junior high school in Sambas Kalimantan Barat. The sample of this research was two clasess they were experimental class and control class by using purposive sampling technique. In class learning experiments were carried out using contextual learning, whereas the control classes implemented learning by using conventional learning. The results showed that: 1) Enhancement of mathematical communication ability in contextual learning was better than students who received conventional learning; 2) Enhancement of mathematical communication ability in contextual learning was better than students who received conventional learning based on prior knowladge (High, Medium, Low); 3) There was of enhancement of mathematical communication ability in contextual learning based on prior knowladge (High, Medium, Low); 4) Enhancement of creative thingking ability in contextual learning was better than students who received conventional learning; 5) Enhancement of creative thingking ability in contextual learning was better than students who received conventional learning based on prior knowladge (High,Medium,Low); and 6) There was of enhancement of creative thingking ability in contextual learning based on prior knowladge (High,Medium,Low); and 7. Most of students shows positive responses toward contextual learning.
