Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah peningkatan kemampuan representasi, kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self-confidence matematis siswa dengan pendekatan pembelajaran metacognitive scaffolding karena temuan penelitian sebelumnya mengidentifikasi bahwa siswa masih kurang memiliki kemampuan untuk membentuk prestasi yang baik dalam pembelajaran matematika. Disamping itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah apakah terdapat korelasi antara kemampuan representasi matematis dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan metacognitive scaffolding. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitiannya adalah Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMA kelas X MIPA di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, Sumatera Barat tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara acak terhadap kelas populasi, sehingga diperoleh kelas eksperimen atau kelas MSF yang diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan metacognitive scaffolding dan kelas kontrol atau kelas KVL yang diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konvensioanal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, kemampuan representasi matematis dan self-confidence matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan metacognitive scaffolding lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konvensional. Disamping itu juga terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kemampuan representasi matematis dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan metacognitive scaffolding.;--The purpose of this research are to know the improvement of the ability representation, the ability problem-solving and mathematical self-confidence of students with metacognitive scaffolding learning approach because the finding of the prior research identified that students still lack of these ability to form a good achievement in mathematics learning. Besides, reviewing the correlation between the ability of mathematical representation and mathematical problem solving of students who gain learning with the approach of metacognitive scaffolding. This research is conducted by using quasi experiment research with Nonequivalent Control Group Design with students who acquired metacognitive scaffolding approach learning as experiment group and the students with conventional learning approach as the control group. Location of the this study was in one of State Senior High School in Padang Pariaman District, West Sumatera which the population is high school students of class X MIPA year lesson 2017/2018 and sample data is randomly selected from the population class. The results show that, mathematical problem solving ability, mathematical representation ability and mathematical self-confidence of the students who obtained learning with metacognitive scaffolding approach are better than students who obtained learning with conventional approach. Besides, metacognitive scaffolding approach learning proved had a significant positive correlation between the ability of mathematical representation and mathematical problem solving.
