Abstract

Permasalahan yang diteliti dalam skripsi ini membahas tentang belum maksimalnya proses pengembangan karakter yang tengah dikembangkan pada lingkungan SMK BPI Bandung. Permasalahan ini dapat dikatakan penting karena mengingat dalam proses belajar tidak hanya mengembangkan aspek akademik, namun terdapat pula aspek karakter yang menjadi faktor keberhasilan dalam proses belajar. Untuk menggapai keberhasilan dalam mengembangkan karakter, para guru saat ini menggunakan media komunikasi yang bersifat persuasif guna menumbuhkan kesadaran dalam berkarakter oleh para siswa sekaligus meminimalisir tindakan-tindakan penyimpangan karakter. Maka dari itu, dalam penelitian ini penulis bertujuan untuk mengetahui besaran pengaruh dari komunikasi persuasif yang diterapkan oleh pihak sekolah terhadap pengembangan karakter siswa yang dapat menjadi rujukan dan tindak lanjut dalam proses pengembangan karakter siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah explanatory survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data yang penulis gunakan diperoleh dari penyebaran angket terhadap 62 siswa Otomatisasi dan Tata Kelola Perkantoran SMK BPI Bandung. Teknik analisis data yang penulis gunakan adalah Regresi Sederhana. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan komunikasi persuasif memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan karakter siswa. Tingkat keeratan hubungan antar variabel terdapat pada kategori kuat/tinggi berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis penelitian. Dengan demikian, komunikasi persuasif yang diterapkan oleh pihak sekolah dapat dikatakan telah saling berkaitan dan memberi upaya untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa selama proses belajar. The problem examined in this thesis discusses the not maximizing the character development process that is being developed in the environment of SMK BPI Bandung. This problem can be said to be important because considering that the learning process does not only develop academic aspects, but there are also aspects of character that are a success factor in the learning process. To achieve success in developing character, teachers currently use persuasive communication media to foster awareness in character by students while minimizing acts of character deviation. Therefore, in this study the author aims to determine the amount of influence of persuasive communication applied by the school on student character development which can be a reference and follow-up in the process of developing student character. The research method used in this study is an explanatory survey with a quantitative approach. The data used by the author was obtained from distributing questionnaires to 62 students of Office Automation and Management of SMK BPI Bandung. The data analysis technique that the author uses is Simple Regression. The results of this study indicate that the application of persuasive communication has a positive and significant influence on student character development. The level of relationship between variables is in the strong/high category based on the results of the research hypothesis test. Thus, persuasive communication applied by the school can be said to have been interrelated and provide efforts to develop student character during the learning process.
