Abstract

Penalaran matematis dan motivasi belajar matematika siswa merupakan salah satu faktor keberhasilan siswa dalam belajar. Salah satu upaya untuk mengasah dan mengembangkan pola berpikir siswa dalam meningkatkan penalaran matematis dan motivasi belajar matematika siswa adalah dengan menerapkan model learning cycle 5E disertai teknik probing prompting dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah: peningkatan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E disertai teknik probing prompting dibanding siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; peningkatan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E disertai teknik probing prompting dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional bila ditinjau dari kategori kemampuan awal matematis siswa; motivasi belajar matematika siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E disertai teknik probing prompting dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi-experimental pada SMPN Lubuk Alung. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan kelompok kontrol pretes dan postes dan kelompok kontrol post-respon. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa 1) peningkatan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E disertai teknik probing prompting lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional dengan effect size sebesar 14,9%, 2) peningkatan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E disertai teknik probing prompting lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kategori kemampuan awal matematis siswa, dengan effect size sebesar 41,4%, 3) motivasi belajar matematika siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E disertai teknik probing prompting lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. ..... Mathematical reasoning and motivation to learn mathematics of students is one of the factors of student success in learning. One effort to hone and develop the thinking patterns of students in improving mathematical reasoning and motivation to learn mathematics of students is to apply the 5E learning cycle model along with the technique of probing prompting in learning. The purpose of this study is to examine: improving mathematical reasoning of students who get learning model 5E cycle learning with probing prompting technique than students who obtain conventional learning; improvement of mathematical reasoning of students who get learning model 5E learning cycle with probing prompting technique and students who gain conventional learning when viewed from the category of students' early mathematical ability; motivation to learn mathematics of students who get learning model 5E cycle cycle with probing prompting techniques and students who obtain conventional learning. This research method is quasi-experimental at SMPN Lubuk Alung. The design of this study used pretest and posttest control groups and post-response control groups. Sampling research using purposive sampling technique. The result of data analysis shows that 1) improvement of mathematical reasoning of students who get learning model of learning cycle 5E with probing prompting technique is higher than students who get conventional learning with effect size 14,9%; 2) improvement of mathematical reasoning of students who get learning model of learning cycle 5E with probing prompting technique is higher than students who received conventional learning in terms of students' early mathematical ability category, with effect size 41.4%, 3) motivation to learn mathematics students who get learning model 5E cycle learning with better probing prompting technique than students who have received conventional learning.
