Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa dalam proses pembelajaran IPA yang dilaksanakan di kelas V salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Cidadap Kota Bandung. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya percobaan dalam melakukan pembelajaran IPA, siswa hanya ditugaskan untuk membayangkan peristiwa tanpa melakukan percobaan. Metode yang digunakan pada saat proses pembelajaran tidak bervariatif dan tidak adanya LKS dalam melakukan pembelajaran IPA. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan dan peningkatan hasil belajar IPA dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Cidadap Kota Bandung yang terdiri dari 24 siswa Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukan (1) pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu tahap eksposisi, tahap eksplorasi, dan tahap evaluasi/tindak lanjut; (2) terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata dan ketuntasan kalsikal hasil belajar IPA siswa yang diperoleh pada siklus I ke siklus II. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode eksperimen dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V sekolah dasar.;--This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the process of science learning conducted of grade 5thone of the elementary schools in district Cidadap, Bandung city. This is due to lack of experiments in learning science, students only assigned to imagine events without experimenting. The method used at the time of the learning process didn’t varied and the absence of student worksheets in learning science. The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation and improvement of science learning outcomes by appliying experimental methods. The method used the research of class action Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which implemented in two cycles. Participants in this research is students 5th class elementary school one of the elementary school in the district Cidadap, Bandung city which consisting of 24 student on academic year 2017/2018. The results showed (1) the implementation of learning by applying the experimental method in this research consists of three stages is exposition stage, exploration stage, and evaluation/ follow up stage; (2) there is an increase in the average value and calssical completeness sciences learning outcomes of students obtained in the first cycle to second cycle. Based on the data of the results of this research can be concluded that the application of experimental methods in science learning can improve the learning outcomes of sciense students of 5th class elementary school.
