Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta di lapangan bahwa teks eksplanasi merupakan jenis teks yang baru dipelajari dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia sejak diberlakukan kurikulum 2013. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan bahan ajar teks eksplanasi masih kurang memadai dan kurang sesuai dengan konteks sosial serta karakteristik peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu (1) mendeskripsikan fungsi teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 5 Bandung; (2) mendeskripsikan struktur teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 5 Bandung; (3) mendeskripsikan kaidah kebahasaan teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 5 Bandung; dan (4) mengembangkan bahan ajar teks eksplanasi berdasarkan hasil kajian teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 5 Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu teks eksplanasi yang ditulis oleh peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 5 Bandung. Data penelitian ini berupa hasil analisis fungsi, struktur, dan kaidah kebahasaan teks eksplanasi. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu sebagai berikut. Pertama, fungsi yang ditemukan pada teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik, yaitu memaparkan proses, memparakan alasan, memaparkan akibat, dan memaparkan solusi. Kedua, struktur yang ditemukan pada teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik, yaitu pernyataan umum, paragraf penjelas, dan kesimpulan. Ketiga, Kaidah kebahasaan yang ditemukan pada teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik, yaitu keterangan waktu, konjungsi kronologis, konjungsi kausalitas, kata tunjuk, kata kerja pasif, dan kata sandang penghubung. Keempat, pengembangan bahan ajar teks eksplanasi dari hasil kajian teks eksplanasi karangan peserta didik yang berupa handout yang peneliti susun ke dalam empat bagian, yaitu pembangunan konteks, pemodelan teks, konsep, prinsip, dan prosedur. Handout tersebut mendapat tanggapan positif dari peserta didik.;--This research is motivated by the facts in the field that the explanation text is a new type of text learned in the Indonesian language since the implementation of the 2013 curriculum. It causes of explanation text’s teaching materials is still less adequate and less appropriate with the context and characteristics of students. The purpose of this study, that is (1) describing the function of explanation text of student's essay of eleventh class of SMAN 5 Bandung; (2) describing the structure of explanation text of student's essay of eleventh class of SMAN 5 Bandung; (3) describing the linguistic principles of explanation text of student's essay of eleventh class of SMAN 5 Bandung; and (4) developing explanation text material based on the result of explanatory text study of student's essay of eleventh class of SMAN 5 Bandung. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data source of this research is the explanation text written by the students of eleventh class of SMAN 5 Bandung. The data of this research is the result of the analysis of function, structure, and linguistic rules of e explanation text. The results of this study are as follows. First, the functions found in the explanation text of the student's essay, that is describing the process, arguing the reasons, exposing the result, and exposing the solution. Second, the structure found in the explanation text of the student's essay, that is general statement, explanatory paragraf, and conclusion. Thirdly, the linguistic rules found in the explanation text of the student's essay, that is the time statement, the chronological conjunction, the causal conjunction, the point word, the passive verb, and the linking article. Fourth, the development of teaching materials of explanation text from the result of the study of explanation text of the students' essay in the form of handouts which the researchers arranged into four parts, namely context building, text modeling, concepts, principles, and procedures. The handout received a positive response from the learners.
