Abstract
Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika dalam bentuk pemecahan masalah dan rendahnya motivasi belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan motivasi belajar matematika siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan strategi heuristik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas IV dua sekolah dasar negeri di Kabupaten Aceh Timur tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes, sedangkan data motivasi belajar dikumpulkan menggunakan angket skala sikap dan observasi. Analisis statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik parametrik dengan independent sample t-test dan nonparametrik dengan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan strategi heuristik lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional pada materi pecahan. Hal ini dikarenakan pembelajaran dengan strategi heuristik menekankan pada proses berpikir secara kritis dan analitis untuk mencari dan menemukan sendiri jawaban dari suatu masalah yang dipertanyakan. Melalui pembelajaran dengan strategi heuristik, motivasi belajar siswa meningkat sehingga siswa dapat memiliki rasa keingintahuan terhadap pelajaran dan terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. ----------- The primary problems in this research are low students' mathematical critical thinking ability in doing mathematics question in solving the problem and the low of students’learning motivation. The aim of this research is to describe the improvement the mathematics critical thinking skill ability and students’mathematics learning motivation by joined the learning with heuristics strategy. This research is quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The research participants is the fourth grade students of the two elementary school in East Aceh Regencyon academic year 2016/2017. The data of mathematics critical thinking skill are collected by test instrument, then learning motivation data are collected by attitude scale questionnaire and observation. Statistics analysis which used are parametric statistics with independent sample t-test and non parametric with Mann Whitney test. The result of the research shows that the mathematics critical thinking ability and students’learning motivation are more improve when using the heuristics strategy than the conventional learning on fraction material. It is because of the heuristics strategy learning emphasizes in critical thinking process and analyzes to search and to find the answer of the question. By this heuristics strategy learning, students’learning motivations are increasing so the students have curiousity on the lesson and active in the learning activity.
