Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA terpadu tidak hanya memberikan pemahaman pada satu konsep, tetapi juga keterkaitan antara konsep. Rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami keterkaitan tersebut membutuhkan strategi yang dapat memudahkan mereka menemukan dan memahami keterkaitan antar konsep dan peta konsep adalah strategi yang memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pre-experimental dengan desain one group pre-test post-test. Sebanyak 32 siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 52 Bandung diambil sebagai sampel penelitian untuk diberikan tes literasi sains sebanyak 28 butir yang menilai pengetahuan dan kompetensi serta 34 butir skala sikap yang menilai sikap siswa terhadap sains dalam konteks spesifik. Data yang diperoleh direpresentasikan dengan menggunakan normalized gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan literasi sains siswa. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata literasi sains siswa meningkat sebesar 40% dengan kategori sedang dan pembelajaran IPA terpadu pada tema makanan yang menggunakan peta konsep sebagai alat pembelajaran (a learning tool) dan alat mendesain pembelajaran (a lesson-design tool) bagi guru berhasil meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Peningkatan literasi sains pada tiap domain berturut-turut sebesar 52% pengetahuan sains, 53% pengetahuan tentang sains, 53% mengidentifikasi isu ilmiah, 49% menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah, 60% menggunakan bukti ilmiah, 3% minat terhadap sains, 10% mendukung penyelidikan ilmiah, dan 13% tanggung jawab terhadap sumber daya dan lingkungan. Peningkatan tertinggi dalam analisis tiap materi terletak pada materi energi sebesar 58%, sedangkan peningkatan terendah terletak pada materi ion dan molekul sebesar 45%. Peta konsep sebagai alat untuk mendesain pembelajaran berguna untuk menampilkan keterkaitan antar konsep dalam IPA terpadu dan membantu guru dalam proses pemilihan materi terpadu, penyusunan indikator terpadu, pengorganisasian dan penyampaian materi, pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran, serta penyusunan asesmen pembelajaran.;--- Integrated science teaching not only provide an understanding of specific concept, but also the links between the concepts. Students who have poor ability in understanding these linkages require strategies that can enable them to find and understand the relationship between concepts and concept maps are strategies that meet those needs. This is a pre-experimental study with one group pre-test post-test design. A total of 32 eight-year students of SMPN 52 Bandung were given a scientific literacy test as many as 28 items that assess the knowledge and competence as well as 34 items attitude scale to assess students' attitudes to science in the specific context. Data were represented using the normalized gain to determine the improvement of students’ scientific literacy. The findings show that the average students’ scientific literacy improved by 40% in the moderate category and integrated science teaching on the food theme by using concept map as a learning tool and lesson-design tool for teacher managed to improve students’ scientific literacy. The improvement of scientific literacy in each domain, respectively 52% of knowledge of science, 53% knowledge about science, 53% identify scientific issues, 49% explain the phenomenon scientifically, 60% using scientific evidence, 3% interest in science, 10% support scientific inquiry, and 13% of responsibility for resources and the environment. The highest improvement in the analysis of each concepts lied on the energy concept by 58%, while the lowest improvement is on the ion and molecular concept by 45%. Concept maps as a tool for designing learning is useful to show interrelatedness between integrated science concept that will be taught and help teachers to match the learning goals and objectives, selecting and organizing learning material, learning activities, and learning assessment.
