Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas V SD pada pembelajaran IPS, salah satu penyebabnya adalah penerapan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ditujukan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan dan peningkatan hasil belajar pembelajaran IPS dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT (Numbered Heads Together), yaitu pembelajaran dengan pembagian kelompok diskusi untuk saling membagikan ide dan jawaban yang paling tepat sehingga mendorong siswa lebih aktif dalam bekerjasama. Penelitian ini berupa Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari II siklus. Subjek yang diteliti adalah 30 siswa kelas V SDN S 4. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas guru, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan angket. Setelah menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT (Numbered Heads Together) ini mendapatkan respon positif dari siswa dengan hasil akhir angket yaitu 100%. Adapun hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh yaitu rata-rata pada siklus I sebesar 55,80 meningkat di siklus II menjadi sebesar 83,70. Persentase ketuntasan belajar di siklus I sebesar 30% meningkat di siklus II menjadi sebesar 83,30%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, yaitu dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT (Numbered Heads Together) dapat menigkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di kelas V SDN S 4. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merekomendasikan kepada guru untuk lebih menguasai banyak model atau strategi pembelajaran khususnya penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT (Numbered Heads Together). Peneliti perlu memperhatikan karakteristik siswa dalam pembagian kelompok, pembagian lembar materi dan soal sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. ;--- This research is motivated by the learning outcomes of students in grade V in Elementary School in Social Science subject which is low, one of the reason is the application of conventional learning. The study aimed at investigating the implementation and improvement of social science learning outcomes by implementing cooperative learning with NHT (Numbered Heads Together)type, which is learning by makinggroups discussion to exchange ideas and the most appropriate response in order tostimulate the students more active in teamwork. This research method used was classroom action research, which consists of twocycles. The participants in the study were 30 students of grade V in Elementary School of S 4. The instrument used was the teacher activityobservation sheet, student activity observation sheets and questionnaires.After applying cooperative learning with NHT type, the researcher obtained a positive responses from students with the end result of questionnaire was 100%. As for learning outcomes of students was in average of 55.80 in the first cycle increased in the second cycle into 83.70. The percentage of mastery learning in the first cycle was 30% and increased in the second cycle into 83.30%. The conclusion of this study wasby implementing cooperative learning with NHT type can boost student learning outcomes in social studies in grade V in Elementary School of S 4.Therefore, the researcher recommend to teachers to master a lot of models or learning strategies in particular the implementation of cooperative learning with NHT type. Researcher needs to pay attention to the characteristics of the students in division of group, the distribution of material and the questions sheets in accordance with the needs of students.
