Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis penerapan Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis metode praktikum pada pembelajaran IPA Terpadu terhadap penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan argumentasi tertulis siswa SMP kelas VII. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperiment dengan desain penelitian Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 61 orang siswa kelas VII dari salah satu SMPN di Kota Bandung. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Simple Random Sampling pada kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan argumentasi tertulis. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji Normalitas, uji Homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi Mann-Whitney untuk penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,041 < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hasil ini diperoleh dari data posttest penguasaan konsep untuk siswa yang menggunakan PBL berbasis metode praktikum sebesar 60 dan metode praktikum verifikasi sebesar 53,83. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai Sig Mann-Whitney untuk kemampuan argumentasi tertulis sebesar 0,001 < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hasil ini diperoleh dari data posttest untuk siswa yang menggunakan PBL berbasis metode praktikum sebesar 63,57 dan metode praktikum verifikasi sebesar 74,44. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari implementasi PBL berbasis metode praktikum pada pembelajaran IPA Terpadu untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan argumentasi tertulis siswa dimana nilai posttest siswa kelas kontrol lebih tinggi daripada kelas eksperimen. Kata Kunci : PBL berbasis metode praktikum, penguasaan konsep, kemampuan argumentasi tertulis The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) based on practical method Integrated Learning science in mastery of concepts and the ability of the written arguments from Junior High School’s student Class VII. This study uses Quasi Experimentation with Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Design as the study design. The sample of the research consisted of 61 Class VII students from SMPN in Bandung. The Sampling Technique is Simple Random Sampling to the class. The technique of data collection uses the mastery concepts test and the ability of written arguments. Technique of data analysis uses normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. According to the result of this research, it can be concluded that there is significant differences from implementation of PBL based on practical method Integrated Learning science in knowledge to increase the mastery of concepts but there is no significant differences in the ability of the students in written arguments because posttest data of control class is higher than experiment class.
