    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis Multiple Intelligences (MI) dan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kuasi eksperimennya adalah kelompok kontrol tidak ekuivalen (the nonequivalent control group design), dengan populasi nya adalah seluruh kelas VIII salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung, dan sampel nya adalah dua kelas VIII dengan siswa kelas pertama adalah 29 orang dan siswa kelas kedua adalah 30 orang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis antara siswa siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis Multiple Intelligences (MI) dan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Serta kualitas peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis Multiple Intelligences (MI) termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi. ---------- The aim of this study is to investigate the difference(s) of the enchancement of students’ understanding ability towards mathematical concept between students who obtained Multiple Intelligences learning and direct instruction learning. This study employed quantitative approach with quasy experimental method. The design of this study is non-equivalent control group involving one experimental class and one control class. This study was conducted in one junior high school in Bandung. There were two classes coming from eigth grades as the sample of the study. The result showed that there is no significant difference of students’ enchancement of understanding ability towards mathematical concept between students who obtained Multiple Intelligences learning and direct instruction learning. Besides that, it is also concluded that students who obtained Multiple Intelligences learning for enchancing students’ understanding ability rowards mathematical concept is included into high category.
