Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep fisika. Hasil studi pendahuluan ditemukan pembelajaran fisika sudah menggunakan praktikum tetapi masih bersifat tradisional. Di kehidupan sehari-hari siswa banyak masalah terjadi yang berkaitan dengan konsep dasar fisika yang kurang diketahui siswa. Kajian teori menyatakan ”Pembelajaran di sekolah dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan inkuiri maupun pemecahan masalah (problem solving)” sehingga rumusan masalah penelitian ini, yaitu“Bagaimanakah perbandingan pemahaman konsep fisika melalui pembelajaran kegiatan laboratorium berbasis inkuiri dengan pembelajaran kegiatan laboratorium berbasis problem solving?”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komparasi/perbandingan pemahaman konsep fisika melalui pembelajaran kegiatan laboratorium berbasis inkuiri dengan pembelajaran kegiatan laboratorium berbasis problem solving. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui metode penelitian quasi eksperimen atau eksperimen semu dengan desain The Statistic Group Prettest-Posttest Design yang diadaptasi dari Fraenkel & Wallen, serta instrumen penelitian berupa tes objektif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-IPA Semester 1 Tahun ajaran 2014/2015 di SMAN 1 Sungaiselan Kabupaten Bangka Tengah dengan penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan pengolahan data dan analisis hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, ditemukan rerata peningkatan gain ternormalisasi untuk kelas eksperimen 1 = 0,65 dan untuk kelas eksperimen 2 = 0,56 pada kategori yang sama yaitu sedang, sedangkan per kriteria pemahaman konsep kelas eksperimen 1 terhadap kelas eksperimen 2 didapatkan: peningkatan sebesar 0,08 kriteria translasi, peningkatan sebesar 0,15 kriteria interpretasi, dan peningkatan sebesar 0,06 kriteria ekstrapolasi. Hasil uji hipotesis N-gain menggunakan uji t pada df = 52 didapatkan thitung = 3,071 > ttabel = 1,667 menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep fisika dengan pembelajaran kegiatan laboratorium berbasis inkuiri lebih baik daripada pembelajaran kegiatan laboratorium berbasis problem solving. The results of a preliminary study found that physics learning have using practicum but still traditional character. In daylife, the students a lot of problems occur with regard to the basic concepts of physics that are less known by the students. Study of theory states "Learning in school can be done with the approach of inquiry and problem solving" so that the formulation of problem in this research is "How to comparative of the physics concepts understanding through inquiry-based laboratory activities learning with laboratory activities based problem solving learning?".The purpose of this research is to know comparative or determine of physics concepts understanding through inquiry-based activities learning with laboratory activities based problem solving learning. This research uses a quantitative approach through quasi-experimental methods or quasi-experimental design with the Statistics Group Prettest-Posttest. Design adapted from Fraenkel & Wallen, and the instrument of this research is an objective test. The population of this research is all of students in the class X-IPA Semester 1 2014/2015 at SMAN 1 Sungaiselan Bangka Tengah act of determing sampling by purposive sampling technique. Based on result of research through processing and analysis of data in this research, found an average increase in gain is normalized to the experimental class 1 = 0.65 and for the experimental class 2 = 0.56 in the same category is medium, while per the criteria of the concept understanding in experimental class 1 toward class experiment 2 obtained: an increase of 0.08 translational criteria, an increase of 0.15 interpretation criteria, and an increase of 0.06 extrapolation criteria. The results of the N-gain hypothesis testing using t test at df = 52 obtained t = 3.071> table = 1.667 indicates that physics concepts understanding with inquiry-based laboratory activity learning is better than based laboratory problem solving activities learning.
