Abstract
Peran kemampuan membaca pemahaman menjadi sangat penting dalam
meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman setiap siswa dalam kegiatan
pembelajaran dan memahami apa yang dibacanya. Namun seringkali masalah
timbul pada siswa, sehingga tingkat konsentrasi dalam memahami sesuatu sering
terganggu baik dalam kegiatan membaca, ataupun berpengaruh dalam penurunan
minat baca saat membaca siswa sehingga membuat siswa sulit untuk mengetahui
makna bacaan. Penelitian berlangsung dengan menggunakan metode Quasi
Eksperiment Nonequivalent Control Group Design, dimana peneliti akan mencari
pengaruh atas tindakan yang diberikan baik kepada kelompok eksperimen dan
kelompok kontrol sebagai tujuan dari penelitian ini. Penerapan metode Preview,
Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review (PQ4R) pada kelas eksperimen dengan
berbantuan media digital library pada teks naratif, dinilai menjadi metode yang
efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa,
dibandingkan kelas kontrol dengan penerapan metode CIRC. Sebagai
rekomendasi untuk penelitian lanjutan, disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian
dengan durasi yang lebih panjang dan menggali pendekatan lain yang dapat
meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa.

The role of reading comprehension skills is very important in improving the
knowledge and understanding of each student in learning activities and
understanding what they read. But often problems arise in students, so that the
level of concentration in understanding something is often disrupted either in
reading activities, or affects the decline in reading interest when reading students
so that it makes it difficult for students to know the meaning of reading. The
research took place using the Quasi-Experiment Nonequivalent Control Group
Design method, where researchers will look for the effect of the actions given to
both the experimental group and the control group as the purpose of this study.
The application of Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review (PQ4R)
method in the experimental class with the help of digital library media on
narrative text is considered to be an effective method in improving students'
reading comprehension skills, compared to the control class with the application
of the CIRC method. As a recommendation for further research, it is suggested to
conduct research with a longer duration and explore other approaches that can
improve students' reading comprehension skills.
