Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya permasalahan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks berita. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh kurangnya minat siswa dalam keterampilan menulis dan sulitnya siswa memahami pembelajaran teks berita khususnya unsur-unsur berita yang membutuhkan penalaran tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa metode Peer Feedback efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks berita. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis metode eksperimen kuasi dan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Desain. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes awal, tes akhir dan lembar observasi kegiatan siswa. Dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik melalui aplikasi SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai tes awal di kelas eksperimen diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 63 dan di kelas kontrol sebesar 61. Lalu, berdasarkan nilai tes akhir, kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa di kedua kelas telah meningkat dengan rata-rata nilai di kelas eksperimen sebesar 84 dan rata-rata nilai di kelas kontrol sebesar 77. Lalu pada uji hipotesis, nilai Sig. 0,015 < 0,05 yang artinya Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil menulis teks berita siswa yang mendapat perlakuan metode pembelajaran Peer Feedback dengan siswa yang tidak mendapat perlakuaan metode pembelajaran Peer Feedback. Kata kunci: kemampuan menulis, peer feedback, teks berita This research is motivated by the problem of students' writing skills in news text. This is due to the lack of interest among students in writing skills and the difficulty students face in understanding the elements of news writing, particularly those that require high-level reasoning. This study aims to prove that the Peer Feedback method is effective in improving students' news text writing skills. The research uses a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. The data collection techniques used are pretest, posttest, and student activity observation sheets. The data analysis technique uses statistical tests through SPSS version 25. The research results show that the pretest scores in the experimental class have an average of 63, while in the control class, the average is 61. Then, based on the posttest scores, students' news text writing abilities in both classes have improved, with an average score of 84 in the experimental class and 77 in the control class. In the hypothesis test, the Sig. value is 0.015 < 0.05, which means Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the results of students' news text writing who received the Peer Feedback learning method treatment and those who did not.
