Abstract

Selama ini proses pembelajaran sejarah dinilai belum membuat siswa dapat memahami sejarah dengan baik, karena materi yang disajikan oleh guru masih bertumpu pada proses menghafal isi buku teks. Usaha untuk memahami materi sejarah terutama sejarah yang terdapat di lingkungan siswa hampir dikatakan belum tampak. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan cara demikian telah mereduksi keterampilan berpikir sejarah siswa, terutama pada kemampuan pemahaman sejarah, padahal memahami sejarah merupakan salah satu tujuan dari pembelajaran sejarah. Tereduksinya kemampuan tersebut berimplikasi pada rendahnya motivasi siswa untuk belajar sejarah. Kenyataan di atas menjadi latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelaksanaan pembelajaran sejarah berbasis kearifan lokal dalam Naskah Tanjung Tanah terhadap kemampuan pemahaman sejarah dan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan populasi adalah siswa SMA kelas X di Kabupaten Kerinci, sementara sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPA 1, X IPA 2, X IPA 3, dan X IPA 4 di SMA Negeri 2 Kerinci. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran sejarah berbasis kearifan lokal dalam Naskah Tanjung Tanah terhadap kemampuan pemahaman sejarah siswa; (2) terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran sejarah berbasis kearifan lokal dalam Naskah Tanjung Tanah terhadap motivasi belajar siswa; (3) terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara penerapan pembelajaran sejarah berbasis kearifan lokal dalam Naskah Tanjung Tanah dan pembelajaran sejarah model konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemahaman sejarah siswa; (4) terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara penerapan pembelajaran sejarah berbasis kearifan lokal dalam Naskah Tanjung Tanah dan pembelajaran sejarah model konvensional terhadap motivasi belajar siswa.-- During this time, the process of history learning is not considered to make students understand history well, because the material presented by the teacher still relies on the process of memorizing the contents of textbooks. Efforts to understand historical materials, especially the history happened in students environment, are almost invisible. The implementation of the memorization teaching technique has reduced students’ historical thinking skills, especially in the historical comprehensioan ability, while understanding history is one of the goals of history learning. The reduction of this capability causes students’ low motivation to learn history. The above fact is the background of the implementation of this study, with the goal to determine the effect of the implementation of historical learning based on local wisdom of the Tanjung Tanah Manuscript toward the historical comprehension ability and students’ learning motivation. This research is a quasi experiment with X grade of high school students in Kerinci Regency as the population. Meanwhile, the research samples are students of grade X IPA 1, X IPA 2, X IPA 3, and X IPA 4 of SMA 2 Kerinci. The results of this study indicate that (1) there is influence of history learning based on local wisdom in the Tanjung Tanah Manuscript toward the historical comprehensioan ability of students; (2) there is influence of history learning based on local wisdom in the Tanjung Tanah Manuscript toward student learning motivation; (3) there is difference between the implementation of history learning based on local wisdom of the Tanjung Tanah Manuscript and the implementation of history learning using conventional model on the historical comprehension ability of students; (4) there is difference between the implementation of history learning based on local wisdom of the Tanjung Tanah Manuscript and the implementation of history learning using conventional model on students’ learning motivation.
