    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran word square terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran PAI dan Budi Pekerti di SMP Negeri 7 Depok. Model pembelajaran word square dipilih sebagai inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran PAI dan Budi Pekerti. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian eksperimen dengan quasi experimental design. Adapun jenis desain eksperimen semu dari penelitian ini yaitu desain non-equivalent control group design, dimana kelompok eksperimen maupun kontrol tidak dipilih secara random. Untuk instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes objektif ranah kognitif dengan bentuk soal pilihan ganda. Sedangkan, untuk analisis data meliputi analisis uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, perhitungan gain ternormalisasi, dan uji t-test berupa statistik parametik yaitu uji paired sample test dan independent sample test, serta statistik non-parametik yaitu dengan uji wilcoxon, dan uji mann whitney. Hasil pengolahan data dengan menggunakan uji independent sample test data posttest kelas eksperimen dan kontrol, menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,574 > 0,05, maka sesuai dasar pengambilan keputusan dalam uji independent sample test, jika nilai sig. (2-tailed) > 0,05 maka tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang melakukan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model word square dengan siswa yang tidak menggunakan model word square dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran PAI dan Budi Pekerti. Dilihat dari gain ternormalisasinya pun kelas eksperimen dan kontrol memiliki rata-rata dengan interpretasi sedang. Jika dilihat dari perhitungan gain dengan uji Paired Sample Test pada kelas eksperimen dan uji Wilcoxon pada kelas kontrol sama-sama mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar sehingga pada kedua kelas tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran word square yang digunakan oleh kelas eksperimen, tidak lebih efektif dalam peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI dan Budi Pekerti di SMP Negeri 7 Depok. ;---This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the use of word square learning model to improve learning outcomes of learners on the subjects of PAI and Budi Pekerti in SMP Negeri 7 Depok. Word square learning model was chosen as a new innovation in learning PAI and Budi Pekerti. The method that was used in this research is experimental research method with quasi experimental design. The kind of quasi-experimental design from this research was non-equivalent control group design, where the experimental and control groups were not randomly selected. For the instrument used in the form of objective test of the cognitive domain with the form of multiple choice questions. Meanwhile, for data analysis included normality test analysis, homogeneity test, normalized gain calculation, and t-test in the form of parametric statistic was paired sample test and independent sample test, and non-parametric statistic that was wilcoxon test and mann whitney test. The result of data processing by using independent sample test test posttest data of experiment and control class, showed sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.574> 0.05, then according to the basis of decision-making in the test independent sample test, if the value of sig. (2-tailed)> 0.05 then there is no significant difference between students who learned by using word square model with students who did not use word square model in improving student learning outcomes on learning PAI and Budi Pekerti. Judging from the normalized gain, the experimental and control classes have average with moderate interpretation. When viewed from the gain calculation by Paired Sample Test in the experimental class and Wilcoxon test in the control class, both were having an increasement on learning outcomes so that in both classes there was no significant differences. Thus, the word square learning model used by the experimental class is no more effective in improving student learning outcomes in PAI and Budi Pekerti subjects in SMP Negeri 7 Depok.
