Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi kelas X IPS SMA Negeri 10 Tasikmalaya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model cooperative learning teknik Student-Team Achievement Division (STAD) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi materi lembaga jasa keuangan dalam perekonomian Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis berbentuk uraian. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan uji parametrik yaitu uji Paired-Sample T Test dan Independent-Samples T Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (i) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kategori sedang siswa kelas eksperimen antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan model cooperative learning teknik Student-Team Achievement Division (STAD); (ii) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan model cooperative learning teknik Student-Team Achievement Division (STAD) dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode ceramah bervariasi, yang mempunyai nilai Gain 0,54 untuk kelas eksperimen dan 0,28 untuk kelas kontrol sehingga kelas eksperimen lebih unggul sebesar 0,26 angka.;---The problem in this research is grade X Social students’ low critical thinking ability in economy subject in SMA Negeri 10 Tasikmalaya. The aim of this research is to know the effect of cooperative learning model with technique of Student-Team Achievement Division (STAD) towards students’ critical thinking ability in Economy subject under the topic of financial service institutions in Indonesia Economy. This study used quasi-experimental method with non-equivalent control group design. The instrument of this study is written test in the form of essay. The hypotheses were tested using a parametric test such as Paired-Sample T-Test and Independent Samples T-Test. The result of this study showed that: (i) there is a difference in the improvement of critical thinking ability in the moderate category of experimental class students between before and after being given treatment using cooperative learning model of Student-Team Achievement Division (STAD) technique; (ii) there is a difference in the improvement of students' critical thinking ability between experimental classes treated by cooperative learning model of Student-Team Achievement Division (STAD) technique with control class using varied lecture method, which has Gain value 0,54 for experimental class and 0, 28 for control class so that the experimental class is superior to 0.26 points.
