Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh suasana yang tidak kondusif di dalam kelas pada saat pembelajaran sehingga cenderung memengaruhi kompetensi interpersonal siswa. Fenomena yang terjadi di SMP Negeri 9 Bandung terdapat siswa yang ragu dalam mengemukakan pendapat ketika ditunjuk, kurang mengahargai temannya ketika di kelas, dan suasana kelas yang gaduh. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran umum iklim kelas dan kompetensi interpersonal serta mengetahui besarnya kontribusi iklim kelas terhadap kompetensi interpersonal. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 360 siswa. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui innstrumen yang terdiri dari dua variabel yaitu iklim kelas dan kompetensi interpersonal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) iklim kelas siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 9 Bandung berada pada kategori tidak kondusif dengan persentase sebesar 55%, (2) kompetensi interpersonal siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 9 Bandung berada pada kategori tidak kompeten dengan persentase 54%, (3) iklim kelas berkontribusi terhadap kompetensi interpersonal sebesar 3,5 %, (4) hasil ini berimplikasi bagi layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk meningkatkan iklim kelas dan kompetensi interpersonal. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah guru BK diharapkan dapat membuat dan mengembangkan program bimbingan dan konseling terkait iklim kelas dan kompetensi interpersonal serta berbagai pihak dapat saling bekerja sama dalam meningkatkan iklim kelas dan kompetensi interpersonal siswa.---This background of the study is the class situation which is not conducive during the learning process which impacts the students’ interpersonal competence. The phenomenon that occurred in SMP Negeri 9 Bandung there are students who hesitate in expressing opinions when appointed, less appreciate his friends when in class, and the atmosphere of a rowdy class. The study aims to describe the general image of classroom climate and interpersonal competence as well as finding out how big is the contribution of classroom climate towards interpersonal competence. The research approach used is quantitative with descriptive method. The total population in this study is 360 students. Data collection is obtained through an instrument consisting of two variables, namely classroom climate and interpersonal competence. The result of the research shows that (1) classroom climate of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 9 Bandung is not conducive with percentage of 55%, (2) interpersonal competence of grade VIII student of SMP Negeri 9 Bandung is not competent with percentage 54% ) the classroom climate contributes to interpersonal competence of 3.5%; (4) these results have implications for counseling and guidance services to improve classroom climate and interpersonal competence. The recommendation of this research is Counseling Guidance teacher is expected to create and develop guidance and counseling program related to classroom climate and interpersonal competence and various parties can work together in improving classroom climate and interpersonal competence of students.
