Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan siswa yang masih kurang dalam menulis teks deskripsi. Siswa beranggapan menulis teks deskripsi merupakan hal yang rumit dan sulit. Kesulitan yang dialami siswa berupa kesulitan dalam mendapatkan ide, serta sukar dalam mengembangkan sebuah tulisan. Oleh karena itu, supaya siswa mampu mengembangkan potensinya dalam hal menulis teks deskripsi, diperlukan suatu inovasi pembelajaran yang menarik minat siswa. Maka, peneliti akan mengujicobakan penerapan media vlog dengan model ARIAS dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi, sehingga mampu memberikan alternatif dengan media vlog dalam mengatasi permasalahan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini antara lain (1) bagaimanakah kemampuan siswa menulis teks deskripsi sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran di kelas eksperimen?; (2) bagaimanakah kemampuan siswa menulis teks deskripsi sebelum dan sesudah pembelajarann di kelas kontrol?; (3) apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol?.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji hipotesis dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dan derajat kebebasan (dk) = 48 diperoleh hasil ttabel sebesar 2,0126 dan thitung sebesar 4,19. Hal ini berarti thitung (4,19) > ttabel (2,0126). Dengan kata lain, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol setelah kelas eksperimen mendapat perlakuan media vlog dengan model ARIAS. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Artinya, media vlog dengan model ARIAS berhasil dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi.;---This research is motivated by the ability of students who are still lacking in writing the description text. The student think that writing text description is complicated and difficult. The difficulties experienced by students is difficulty in getting ideas, as well as difficult in developing a writing. Therefore, in order to students develop their potential in terms of writing descriptive text, be required a learning innovation that is of interest to the students. So, the research will test the application of vlog media with ARIAS model in learning to write description text, so as to provide an alternative with vlog media in overcoming the problem of capability writing text description design. The method used in this research is quasi experiment method with pretest-postest control group design. Problem formulation in this research are (1) how is student ability to write description text before and after learning by using in experiment class? (2) how is the students ability to write text description before and after learning in control class? (3) is there a significant difference between the ability to write the description text in the experiment class and the control class? Based on hypothesis test calculation with 95% confidence level and degrees of freedom (dk) = 48 obtained table result of 2,0126 and count of 4,19. This means count (4,19) > table (2,0126). In the other words, there is a significant difference between the ability to write the description text in the experimental class and the control class after the experimental class gets vlog media treatment with the ARIAS model. Based on it can be concluded that Ha accepted and Ho rejected. That is, vlog media with ARIAS model is success in learning to write description text.
