Abstract

This study was aimed to construct a test instrument to assess critical thinking skills of high school students the concept of sound waves. The research uses a research and development method (R&D), consisting of: 1) the preliminary study phase; 2) the design and review phase; 3) testing phase involving 249 high school students. Test instruments consists of 12 essay questions contain 4 indicator and 9 sub indicators of critical thinking skills expressed by Ennis, with the questions that are qualitative and contextual. The quality of the test instruments is valid and high reliability. Based on the results of hypothesis testing two different average values, the result is the test instrument can distinguish between the critical thinking skills of students who had the learning process to exercise critical thinking skills, with students whose learning process did not exercise critical thinking skills. Based on the test results of Anova one way, test instruments can identify of similarities critical thinking skills among students who had learning process to exercise critical thinking skills using the guided inquiry method, problem based learning method, and learning cycle 5E. Based on the results of Pearson Product Moment correlation test showed that there is a positive correlation between critical thinking skills with mastery of learning materials on students' test implementations. It was concluded that the critical thinking skills test instruments constructed were functioning well in assessing critical thinking skills of students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkonstruksi instrumen tes yang mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas pada materi gelombang bunyi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang terdiri atas : 1) tahap studi pendahuluan; 2) tahap perancangan dan penelaahan instrumen tes; 3) tahap pengujian instrumen tes yang melibatkan 249 siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Instrumen tes yang dikonstruksi dalam bentuk essai, terdiri atas 12 soal memuat 4 indikator dan 9 sub indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dikemukakan oleh Ennis, dengan soal-soal yang bersifat kualitatif dan kontekstual. Kualitas instrumen tes yang dikonstruksi valid dan memiliki reliabilitas dengan kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis beda 2 nilai rata-rata, diperoleh hasil yaitu instrumen tes yang dikonstruksi dapat membedakan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara siswa yang mendapatkan proses pembelajaran yang melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan siswa yang mendapatkan proses pembelajaran yang tidak melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Berdasarkan hasil uji Anova satu arah, instrumen tes yang dikonstruksi dapat mengidentifikasi kesamaan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara siswa yang mendapatkan proses pembelajaran yang melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, pembelajaran berbasis masalah, dan siklus belajar 5E. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan penguasaan materi ajar pada siswa uji implementasi instrumen tes yang dikonstruksi. Disimpulkan bahwa instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dikonstruksi berfungsi baik dalam mengases keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.
