Abstract
A developmental study of virtual simulation media and its implementation in physics science teaching to remediate students misconception on the material about propagation of sound waves at the junior high school (SMP). The virtual simulation media of the sound waves are used to visualize the phenomenon of propagation of sound waves which are microscopic and not visible by direct observation. In this research, the virtual simulation media of the sound wave is applied to the learning model ILD (Interactive Lecture Demonstrations) conceptual change oriented. This study was conducted on 37 students of class VIII in one MTs in Sumedang with mixed methods (mixed method) qualitative-quantitative. Samples were selected using purposive sampling technique, with the criteria of the sampled students are students who have misconceptions on the material sound waves. Based on the comparison between student misconceptions quantity before and after treatment with virtual simulation media sound waves, it can be concluded that the development of virtual simulation media can help remediate the students misconceptions on the material about the propagation of sound wave.
