Abstract
Telah dilakukan penelitian eksperimen tentang penerapan strategi Predict, Discuss, Explain, Observe, Discuss, Explain (PDEODE) berbantuan praktikum maya pada pembelajaran Fisika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memahami dan kemampuan menganalisis siswa SMA. Landasan teori untuk startegi PDEODE adalah teori keseimbangan (equilibrium) kognitif Piaget. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Pre-Experiment menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subyek penelitian adalah para siswa kelas XII IPA 1 pada salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Pekanbaru Riau. Materi ajar yang dibahas dalam penelitian adalah rangkaian listrik arus searah. Praktikum Maya yang digunakan adalah program PheT Simulations (circuit-contruction-kit DC) yang dikembangkan oleh University of Colorado USA. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi tes kemampuan memahami dan tes kemampuan menganalisis dalam bentuk tes pilihan ganda, skala sikap, dan lembar obsevasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan strategi PDEODE berbantuan praktikum maya pada pembelajaran materi rangkaian listrik arus searah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan memahami dan kemampuan menganalisis siswa dengan kategori peningkatan sedang. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh capaian rata-rata skor gain yang dinormalisasi, <g>, sebesar 0,58 untuk kemampuan memahami dan sebesar 0,50 untuk kemampuan menganalisis. Peningkatan sebesar ini merupakan akumulasi dari peningkatan setiap indikator kemampuan memahami dan indikator kemampuan menganalisis yang ditinjau dalam penelitian ini. Hasil-hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi PDEODE berbantuan praktikum maya memiliki potensi yang cukup baik untuk meningkatkan pencapaian hasil belajar kognitif siswa khususnya dalam kemampuan memahami dan kemampuan menganalisis. The experimental study on the application of the strategy Discuss, Explain, Predict, Observe, Explain, Discuss (PDEODE) aided virtual laboratory in teaching physics to improve the understanding and analyzing abilities of high school students has been done. theoretical basis for the PDEODE strategy is the theory of balance (equilibrium) cognitive Piaget. The method used in this study is the pre-experiment methods using one-group pretest-posttest design. Subjects were students of class XII IPA 1 on one of the high schools in the Pekanbaru city Riau. Subject matter covered in the study is the direct current circuit. Virtual laboratory used in this study is PhET Simulations program (circuit-contruction-kit DC) developed by the University of Colorado, USA. The research instruments used include test the understanding and analyzing ability in the form of multiple-choice test, the attitude scale, and observation sheets for feasibility of instruction. The results suggest that the use of PDEODE strategies aided virtual laboratory on the subject matter of direct current circuit can improve the ability to understanding and analyzing ability of students in moderate improvement category. This is shown by the average of achievement of normalized gain score <g> of 0.58 for the understanding ability and at 0.50 for the analyzing ability. The increase of this magnitude is an accumulation of improvement every indicator of the understanding and analyzing ability examined in this study. These results indicate that the PDEODE strategy aided virtual laboratory has good potential to increase students' cognitive learning achievement, especially in the ability to understand and analyze capabilities.
