Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan menulis siswa dalam materi teks deskripsi yang disebabkan oleh faktor internal maupun eksternal siswa. Tujuan dilaksanakan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh metode menulis berantai berbantuan media aplikasi Canva terhadap kemampuan menulis dengan melakukan uji coba penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tulisan hasil tes awal dan tes akhir siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dari populasi siswa kelas VII SMP Darul Fatwa serta data observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa selama masa perlakuan. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 30 siswa dari masing-masing kelas VII A dan VII B yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 29. Hasil uji menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,218 > 0,05 yang artinya tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai tes akhir kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa metode menulis berantai berbantuan media aplikasi Canva tidak memengaruhi kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas eksperimen secara signifikan di SMP Darul Fatwa ; This research is motivated by students' writing problems in descriptive text material caused by students' internal and external factors. The purpose of this research was to see the effect of the Canva chain-assisted writing method on writing ability by testing its use in learning to write descriptive text. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data in this study were in the form of writing the results of the initial and final tests of students in the experimental class and the control class from the class VII student population at SMP Darul Fatwa as well as observational data on the activities of teachers and students during the treatment period. The sample used was 30 students from each class VII A and VII B which were determined using a purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique used statistical tests with the help of SPSS software version 29. The test results showed a significance value of 0.218 > 0.05, which means that there was no ssignificant difference between the final test scores of the experimental class and the control class. It was concluded that the chain writing method assisted by the Canva application media did not significantly affect the ability to write descriptive texts of the experimental class students at Darul Fatwa Middle School.
