    Abstract

    Penelitian ini berkenaan dengan penggunaan metode belajar inkuiri sosial pada mata pelajaran sejarah pada siswa kelas 10 semester II di SMA Negeri 1 Banjaran Kabupaten Bandung. Penelitian ini membandingkan dua metode belajar yaitu ikuiri sosial untuk kelas eksperimen dan metode ekspositori pada kelas kontrol, untuk mengetahui perbandingan dari hasil belajar pada kemampuan kognitif, dilihat pada aspek memahami (C2) dan aspek mengaplikasikan (C3), dengan asumsi penggunaan metode ikuiri sosial mampu meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada aspek C2 dan C3. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian eksperimen, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen pre test dan post test soal tes pilihan ganda dan soal tes essay/uraian. Temuan yang didapatkan pada hasil penelitian yaitu perbandingan dari gain hasil pre test dan post test aspek memahami pada kelas kontrol 2,13 dan kelas eksperimen yaitu 3,6, perbandingan gain hasil pre test dan post test aspek menganalisis pada kelas kontrol 6,95 dan kelas eksperimen yaitu 8,15. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara yang menggunakan metode belajar inkuiri sosial dengan yang menggunakan metode ekspositori.;--- This study discusses the use of social inquiry study method in history lesson in second semester class X SMA 1 Banjaran. This study compares two study methods, there are social inquiry study method for the experiment class and expository study method for the control class to measure the comparison of the result in the cognitive aspect of the students. The measurement can be seen from the understanding aspect (C2) and application aspect (C3), with the assumption of social inquiry method can enhance cognitive aspect of the students in C2 and C3 aspects. This study employs experimental research. The data of this study are gathered through the pre test and post test instruments, by essay test and multiple choice test. The findings of this study shows that the gain comparison from the pretest and posttest of the understanding aspects in the control class is 2,13 and the experiment class is 3,6. The gain comparison from the pretest and posttest of the analyzing aspects in the control class is 6,95 and the experiment class is 8,15. From the study, it is concluded that there is a significant difference by using the social inquiry study method and using the expository study method
