Abstract

Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi karena rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa SMPN I Cilaku terutama dalam pembelajaran IPS. Hal ini disebabkan karena metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru kurang menyentuh aspek psikologi siswa. Implikasinya menyebabkan siswa menjadi pasif karena penerapan metode yang sama dan secara terus menerus dilakukan dan tidak ada variasi sehingga menimbulkan kebosanan.Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut maka guru harus mengubah metode pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan gairah atau motivasi belajar siswa sehingga siswa menjadi aktif serta pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa yaitu dengan menerapkan metode Quantum Teaching.Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode Quantum Teaching atas pengukuran awal dengan pengukuran akhir pada kelas eksperimen (2) perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode Quantum Leraning pada kelas kontrol atas pengukuran awal(pre test)dengan pengukuran akhir (post test) (3) Mengetahui peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar pada pengukuran akhir (post test) pada kelas eksperimen.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Terdapat perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode Quantum Teaching atas pengukuran awal (pretest) dengan pengukuran akhir (postest) Terdapat perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar yang menggunakan metode Quantum Learning pada kelas kontrol atas pengukuran awal (pretest) dan pengukuran akhir (posttest) Terdapat peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar pada pengukuran akhir (post test) pada kelas eksperimen. Rekomendasi yang diberikan adalah mengingat pentingnya motivasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran agar siswa dapat mengikuti pembelajaran dengan kemauan dan minatnya sendiri. Diharapkan guru menggunakan metode-metode yang bervariasi dan inovatif sehingga pembelajaran lebih berkualitas dan hal ini akan berpengaruh pada motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar. Kata kunci : Metode Quantum Teaching,Motivasi belajar,Hasil belajar This study is concerned with the students’ low motivation in learning social science. It was conducted on the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Cianjur. The low motivation was caused by the teaching methods which were unable to deal with students’ psychological aspects. When repeated continuously and with no variation, the methods made students’ passive and bored. These were the problems for this study.To overcome these problems the teacher should change the teaching methods. The teacher should use the methods that can increase students’ motivation for learning so that they become active and in turns they can improve the learning outcomes. In this regard, the Quantum Teaching was one of the methods suggested by this study.The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) the difference in learning motivation and learning outcomes in students taught using the Quantum Teaching method by comparing the initial measurement and the final measurement in the excremental class, 2) the difference in learning motivation and learning outcomes in students taught using the Quantum Learning method in the control class by comparing the initial measurement (pre-test) and the final measurement (post-test), 3) to what extent the learning motivation and outcomes in the experimental class increased at the final measurement (post-test).The results showed that there are differences in learning motivation and outcomes of students taught using the Quantum Teaching method by comparing the initial (pretest) and final measurement (posttest). There are differences in learning motivation and outcomes of students taught using the Quantum Learning method in the control class seen by comparing the initial measurement (pretest) and final measurement (posttest). There is an increase in motivation and learning outcomes at the end of the measurement (post-test) in the experimental class.It was recommended that teachers should consider the importance of students’ motivation in the learning process. Teachers are also expected to let students participate in learning at their own will and interest. In addition, they are suggested to use more various and innovative teaching methods. It is expected that teachers use methods that are varied and innovative learning more quality and this will affect the learning motivation and learning outcomes. In so doing, they create better learning which will have an effect on motivation and learning outcomes. Keywords: quantum teaching method , learning motivation , learning outcome
