Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan kemampuan membaca pemahaman sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan strategi POINT pada kelas VII di SMP Negeri 29 Bekasi. Selain itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data keefektifan strategi POINT dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Penentuan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dilakukan dengan simple random sampling. Berdasarkan teknik sampel tersebut, kelas VII B ditetapkan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII C ditetapkan sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes objektif pilihan ganda menggunakan google form dan observasi, yang diperoleh dari prates dan pascates serta kegiatan selama pembelajaran. Analisis yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasildan simpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) adanya perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan membaca siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan strategi POINT. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji-t sampel berhubungan kelas eksperimen, diketahui t= -14.548, dengan df= 29 dan nilai p= 0,00. Data tersebut menunjukkan nilai p lebih kecil dari 0,05, artinya signifikan. Selain itu, diketahui skor rata-rata kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan 16,33. 2) pembelajaran membaca pemahaman menggunakan strategi POINT lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran membaca pemahaman konvensional. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji-t sampel berhubungan pada kelas eksperimen, diketahui t= -14.548, dengan df= 29 dan nilai p= 0,00. Data tersebut menunjukkan nilai p lebih kecil dari 0,05, artinya signifikan. Kata Kunci: membaca pemahaman, pembelajaran daring, strategi POINT The Effectiveness of POINT Strategy in Reading Comprehensive Learning at VII Grade in SMP Negeri 29 Bekasi ABSTRACT Fikriyanti Nurul Hikmah NIM 1704516 This study aims to determine the differences in reading comprehension skills before and after using the POINT strategy in class VII at SMP Negeri 29 Bekasi. In addition, this study was conducted to obtain data on the effectiveness of the POINT strategy in learning reading comprehension. This research is a type of quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method. The research design used is the Noneequivalent Control Group Design. Determination of the experimental class and control class was done by simple random sampling. Based on the sampling technique, class VII B was designated as the experimental class and class VII C was designated as the control class. The data collection technique was in the form of multiple-choice objective tests using google forms and observations, which were obtained from pre-test and post-test as well as activities during learning. The analysis was carried out using the t-test. The results and conclusions of the study indicate that: 1) there is a significant difference in students' reading ability before and after using the POINT strategy. This is evidenced by the results of the sample t-test related to the experimental class, it is known that t = -14,548, with df = 29 and p value = 0.00. The data shows the p value is smaller than 0.05, which means it is significant. In addition, it is known that the average score of the experimental class has increased by 16.33. 2) learning reading comprehension using the POINT strategy is more effective than conventional reading comprehension learning. This is evidenced by the results of the related sample t-test in the experimental class, it is known that t = -14,548, with df = 29 and p value = 0.00.
