Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum optimalnya pengembangan karakter dalam pembelajaran PAI di Universitas Negeri Medan. Bertolak dari kondisi ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran PAI berbasis proyek video Islami untuk membangun karakter mahasiswa di abad ke-21. Pemilihan proyek video Islami ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya memanfaatkan kemajuan informasi, media dan teknologi untuk berkreativitas Islami serta menyebarkan kebaikan dan syiar Islam. Penelitian dilakukan di Universitas Negeri Medan. Subjek penelitiannya mahasiswa-mahasiswa yang telah belajar PAI selama satu semester. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian R&D dari Borg & Gall. Teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan observasi, wawancara, angket dan skala sikap. Teknik analisis data kualitatif merujuk pada tiga langkah dari Miles & Huberman. Sementara teknik analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan Uji t. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1. Secara konseptual, model ini menjadikan pembelajaran PAI lebih kontekstual karena ada penyesuaian materi PAI dengan kehidupan di abad ke-21. Model pembelajaran PAI juga menjadi sesuai dengan perkembangan intelektual, moral serta urutan berpikir mahasiswa yang sudah jauh berkembang; 2. Dari sisi implementasi, pengintegrasian karakter dalam model pembelajaran ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pengalaman-pengalaman bermakna bermuatan karakter selama proses pembelajaran PAI serta memasukkan karakter sebagai materi pembelajaran PAI; 3. Model ini efektif mengembangkan beberapa karakter yaitu kreatif, kerja keras dan mandiri, serta keterampilan memanfaatkan TIK untuk berkreativitas Islami dan berdakwah virtual; 4. Model pembelajaran ini membuat mahasiswa mampu mengakses, menilai dan menggunakan informasi secara kreatif, mampu menggunakan media sebagai sumber belajar dan alat untuk berkarya dan berkreativitas, serta mampu menggunakan TIK secara efektif. This study was motivated by the low rate of character development in PAI learning at Medan State University. This study aims to produce a PAI learning model based on Islamic video project to build student characters in the 21st century. The selection of Islamic video making as this PAI project was motivated by the importance of utilizing advances of media, information and technology for Islamic creativity and spreading the goodness and merits of Islam (virtual da’wah). The study was conducted at Medan State University. The subjects of this study were students who had studied PAI for one semester. This study used qualitative and quantitative approaches and R&D research methods developed by Borg & Gall. The data collection techniques were observation, interviews, questionnaires and attitude scale. The qualitative data analysis techniques referred to the three steps of Miles & Huberman. While for the quantitative data analysis techniques, the Wilcoxon test and t test were used. The results of this study are 1. Conceptually, this model makes PAI learning process more contextual because there is an adjustment of PAI learning material to the life in the 21st century. The PAI learning model also becomes in accordance with the intellectual development, morals and thinking order of students in higher education that have far developed.; 2. In practice, integrating characters in this learning model is applied by providing meaningful learning experiences containing characters during the PAI learning process and incorporating characters as PAI learning material; 3. The results of this study also revealed that the learning model developed in this study was proven to be able to develop student characters effectively, especially creative, work hard and autonomous, and skills in utilizing IT for Islamic creativity and virtual preaching; 4. This learning model also trained students to be able to access, assess and use information creatively, be able to use media as a source of learning and tools for creativity, and be able to use IT effectively.
