Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar IPA terpadu pada tema plastik yang berorientasi kemampuan berargumentasi. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh konsep pendidikan abad 21 yang difokuskan pada pengembangan kompetensi kreatif, berpikir kritis, komunikasi, dan kolaborasi. Argumentasi dapat menjadi salah satu solusi untuk menjawab tantangan karena dapat memfasilitasi kompetensi berpikir kritis dan komunikasi. Argumentasi dikembangkan pada pembelajaran melalui permasalahan isu sosiosaintifik pada tema plastik di dalam bahan ajar. Permasalahan isu sosiosaintifik diimplementasikan dalam bentuk soal essay argumentasi untuk diuji empirik. Berdasarkan hasil uji empirik, diperoleh 7 soal essay argumentasi yang dimasukkan ke dalam bahan ajar. Melalui soal tersebut juga diperoleh nilai kemampuan argumentasi pada siswa yaitu 65. Pengembangan bahan ajar IPA terpadu pada tema plastik menggunakan model pengembangan Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4S TMD). Berdasarkan pengembangan bahan ajar yang dilakukan, diperoleh 63 paragraf dalam bahan ajar. Bahan ajar IPA terpadu hasil pengembangan tersebut juga diuji kelayakannya yang terdiri dari kelayakan isi sebesar 78%, kelayakan kebahasaan 82%, kelayakan penyajian 75%, dan kelayakan kegrafikaan 76%; This study aims at generating integrated science teaching materil on plastic based theme which is oriented to the ability to argue. The 21st Century Education focuses on the development of the competence in creativity, critical-thinking, communication, and collaboration. Based on that reason, the argumentation can be one of the solutions to answer this issue since it facilitates the critical-thinking and communication competences. The argumentation is improved by the lesson that has the socio-scientific issue inside the teaching materials. The socio-scientific issue is implemented into the form of argument essay questions to be empirically tested. Based on the results of the empirical test, obtained 7 argument essay questions to be included into teaching materials. Form the questions, resulted the score of student’s ability to argue by 65. Four Step Teaching Material Development (4S TMD) was administered to develop the integrated science teaching material. Based on the teaching material development obtained 63 paragraphes. The developed integrated science teaching material was also tested its feasibility consisted of the content feasibility by 78%, language feasibility 82%, presentation feasibility 75%, and the feasibility of graphics by 76%
