Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VA pada muatan pelajaran IPS di salah satu SD Negeri kota Bandung yang ditandai oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada muatan pelajaran IPS yang berkaitan dengan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dan peningkatan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran IPS bagi siswa kelas VA. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas VA yang berjumlah 24 siswa pada tahun pembelajaran 2017/2018 di salah satu SD Negeri di kota Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi pra-siklus, selama ini guru terbiasa menerapkan model dan metode konvensional melalui ceramah dan penugasan tanpa memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menemukan pengetahuannya sendiri. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian tindakan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang sebelumnya belum pernah dilakukan oleh guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode PTK yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Taggart dengan menerapkan langkah-langkah model pembelajaran inkuiri yang dikembangkan oleh Hosnan, terdiri dari II siklus. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai rerata pemahaman konsep yang didapatkan siswa mengalami peningkatan yaitu, pada siklus I 75,1 dengan ketuntasan belajar 66% dan nilai rerata pemahaman konsep yang didapatkan siswa pada Siklus II 83,6 ketuntasan belajar 87,5%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VA. ;---This research arose from the low conceptual understanding on the social studies in class VA at one of the primary school in Bandung which was characterized by students’ low learning outcomes on social studies related to conceptual understanding. This study aims to describe the implementation of guided inquiry learning model and the improvement of conceptual understanding on social studies learning process for class VA students. The participants in this study were 24 students of class VA at one of the primary school in Bandung, school year 2017/2018. Based on the results of the pre-cyclical reflection, teachers have been accustomed to employ conventional models and methods through lectures and task without giving students the opportunity to discover their own knowledge. Therefore, the researcher conducted an action research by applying the guided inquiry learning model that has not previously been done by the teacher. This study employed action research method developed by Kemmis and Taggart by applying the stages of inquiry learning model developed by Hosnan, consisting of two cycles. The result of the research reveals that the average score of conceptual understanding obtained by students increased, that was, in cycle I, 75.1 with 66% learning achievement and the average score of conceptual understanding obtained by students in cycle II was 83.6, mastery learning was 87.5%. The conclusion of this research is that the guided inquiry learning model can improve the class VA students' understanding.
