Abstract

Keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa di sekolah dasar masih sangat kurang. Apabila siswa disuguhkan sebuah teks bacaan yang cukup panjang siswa terkadang malas untuk membacanya. Ketika peneliti melakukan penelitian di kelas masih banyak siswa yang kurang paham mengenai membaca pemahaman tersebut. Ketika siswa diminta untuk mencari informasi yang penting, lalu menyimpulkan masih terlihat kebingungan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka judul yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah, “Upaya Meningkatkan Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman Dengan Menggunakan Model SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) bagi Siswa Kelas V Sekolah Dasar”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah menggunakan Model SQ4R selain itu juga, membuat siswa aktif dalam membaca dan belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan model SQ4R. Dapat terlihat dari hasil persentase sebelum melakukan penelitian pada saat pra siklus hanya 40%. Tetapi saat siklus I hanya mencapai 64%, setelah melaksanakan siklus II meningkat menjadi 84%. Keberhasilan proses dapat terlihat dari keaktifan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran siswa sudah berani berpendapat, aktif dalam pembelajaran di kelas.;--Student’s reading comprehension skills in elementary school are still lacking. If students are presented with a long enough text reading, students are sometimes lazy to read it. When researchers do research in class, there are still many students who are not aware of reading this understanding. When students are asked to search for important information and conclude that they are still involved in confusion. Based on this, the title taken in this study is “Effort to Improve Reading Comprehension Skill Using the SQ4R Model (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) for Grade V Elmentary School Students”. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is an increase in student, reading comprehension skill after using the SQ4R Model besides that, making students active in reading and learning. The results showed an increase in students reading comprehension skills using the SQ4R model. It can be seen from the results of the percentage before doing the research, when the per-cycle was only 40%. However, when the cycle only reached 64%, after carrying out the second cycle it to increased to 84%. The success of the process can be seen from the activeness of students who take part in learning students have dared to argue, active in learning in class
