Abstract
Pemahaman konsep matematis sangat penting dimiliki siswa karena menjadi kemampuan awal siswa untuk menguasai konsep matematika yang lainnya. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan-temuan yang peneliti temukan di dalam kelas tentang rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas III sekolah dasar dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan model penemuan terbimbing dan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan penerapan model penemuan terbimbing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Instrumen pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, lembar evaluasi, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III semester genap di salah satu SD Negeri di Kecamatan Cidadap Kota Bandung tahun ajaran 2017/2018 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 23 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan enam sintaks model penemuan terbimbing yaitu stimulation, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verification dan generalization. Hasil siklus I menunjukkan bahwa persentase rata-rata pemahaman konsep siswa mencapai 78% dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan hasil siklu II menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata persentase pemahaman konsep matematis mencapai 96% dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model penemuan terbimbing dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas III sekolah dasar.;--Understanding mathematical concepts is very important for students because it becomes the initial ability of students to master other mathematical concepts. This research is motivated by findings that researchers find in the classroom about the low ability to understand mathematical concepts of elementary school students in the third grade of mathematics learning. This research aims to describe the implementation of guided discovery model and improving students mathematical understanding with the application of guided discovery model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research Method (PTK) which is implemented in two cycles. The instruments of data collection in this research are observation sheets, evaluation sheets, field notes and documentation. The subject of this research is the third grader of the even semester in one of the State Elementary School in Cidadap sub-district of Bandung in the academic year 2017/2018 with the number of students as many as 23 people. This research was conducted by applying six syntax of guided discovery model stimulation, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verification and generalization. The result of cycle I shows that the average percentage of students' concept understanding reaches 78% with high category, while the result of cyclu II shows that the average percentage of mathematical concept comprehension reaches 96% with very high category. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of guided discovery model can improve the understanding of mathematical concepts of grade 3 elementary school students.
