Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang penerapan model Project-Based Learning (PjBL) pada tema Energi dan Transformasi Energi dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa kelas VII SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan tipe matching control group pretest–posttest design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Jeumpa Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya kelas VII. Penelitian ini melibatkan 46 siswa yang terdiri atas kelas eksperimen (N = 23) yang menggunakan model Project-Based Learning dan kelas kontrol (N = 23) yang menggunakan model 5M. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal PISA (2006 dan 2012 yang dipilih sesuai dengan tema pembelajaran) dan angket tanggapan siswa. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan software SPSS 23. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan rata-rata n-gain literasi sains kelas eksperimen ( N-Gain = 0,16) lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol ( N-Gain = 0,06). Hasil uji-t menunjukkan peningkatan literasi sains secara signifikan (pada ρ value= 0,000 ). Hasil analisi angket juga menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh siswa menanggapi pembelajaran dengan model PjBL dengan baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PjBL dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa SMP pada pelajaran IPA dibandingkan kelas tanpa menerapkan model pembelajaran tersebut.---- This study aimed to get the description of the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on energy and transformation theme in order to improve scientific literacy of secondary student grade VII. The research method used was quasi experiment with the matching pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted one at secondary student in Jeumpa, Aceh Barat Daya. The research involved 23 student of experiment class (with PjBL model) and student of control class (with scientific 5M model). The test for science literacy was a multiple choice test desired PISA 2006-2012 tests, and was choosen relevant to the subject, and questionnaires about student responses. T-test was done by using SPSS 23. By the results of data analysis, the average of n-gain of experimental class (N-Gain = 0,16) better than control class (N-Gain = 0,06). The t-test results showed that the improvement of scienctific literacy was significantly (ρ value= 0,000). For the students’ respnses, it showed that all of the students give good response to learning activities with PjBL model. Based on the results, it could be concluded that the PjBL model can improve the scientific literacy of secondary students in the science subject than the class without applying the PjBL model.
