Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pada observasi awal yang dilaksanakan di kelas VIII-J SMP Negeri 5 Bandung, terkait dengan partisipasi peserta didik yang masih kurang. Permasalahan ini merupakan temuan dari observasi yang dilakukan pada bulan februari 2017. Permasalahan yan ditemukan adalah rendahnya partisipasi peserta didik dalam mengikuti pembelajaran IPS, hal ini terlihat dari peserta didik yang kurang antusias, peserta didik yang kurang aktif untuk bertanya atau menyanggah, serta pembelajaran dikelas yang masih terlihat monoton karena guru hanya menggunakan metode ceramah, sehingga partisipasi peserta didik akan pembelajaran IPS masih kurang. Melihat permasalahan yang akan diteliti, maka peneliti memilih Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain spiral dari Kemmis dan Taggart. Alternatif pemecahan masalah yang dipilih peneliti yaitu penerapan model cooperative learning tipe example non-examples untuk meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pertama, perencanaan pembelajaran peneliti merancang agar peserta didik mampu belajar secara aktif. Kedua, pelaksanaan tindakan penelitian untuk meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dengan menggunakan model Cooperative Learning tipe example non-examples. Ketiga, partisipasi peserta didik meningkat setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Cooperative Learning tipe example non-examples, terlihat dari tiap siklusnya yang terjadi peningkatan yang baik yaitu persentase pada siklus pertama 45,45%, siklus kedua 60,60%, siklus ketiga 90,90%, dan siklus keempat yaitu 90,90%. Keempat, merefleksi kekurangan dan kendala pada setiap siklus dan melakukan perbaikan pada siklus berikutnya. Maka dapat peneliti simpulkan penerapan model Cooperative Learning tipe example non-examples dapat meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS.-----This research is based on the preliminary observations conducted in class VIII-J Junior High School 5 Bandung, associated with the participation of lower achiever students. This problem is the finding of observations conducted in February 2017. Problems found are the low participation of learners in following the Social Science lesson, it is seen from the less enthusiastic of learners, learners who are less active to ask or refute, as well as learning in the classroom still looks monotonous because teachers only use the lecture method, so that the participation of learners in Social Science will be less. The researcher chose Class Action Research (CAR) with spiral design from Kemmis and Taggart. The problem solving alternatives chosen by the researcher is the implementation of cooperative learning model type example non-examples to increase the participation of learners in learning Social Science. Based on the results of research that has been done, it can be concluded that; first, the planning of learning which was designed by the researcher is to make the learners to be able to learn actively. Second, the implementation of research is to increase the participation of learners using the model Cooperative Learning type example non-examples. Third, the participation of learners increased after following the learning by using model Cooperative Learning type example non-examples which can be seen from each cycle that showed good improvement of percentage at first cycle 45,45%, second cycle 60,60%, third cycle 90, 90%, and the fourth cycle is 90.90%. Fourth, reflect the shortcomings and constraints on each cycle and make improvements in the next cycle. It can be concluded that the implementation of Cooperative Learning model type example non-examples can relatively increase the participation of learners in Social Science learning.
