Abstract

Siswa lambat belajar (Slow learner) merupakan kategori siswa pada masa pertengahan atau transisi antara siswa normal dengan siswa berkebutuhan khusus” (Burton dalam Sudrajat : 2013). Secara kemampuan potensialnya, siswa tersebut dapat ditingkatkan prestasi belajarnya dengan diberikanya perlakuan khusus oleh guru pada proses kegiatan belajar mengajar. Pada penelitian ini, terfokus pada kemampuan menulis prosa siswa slow learner, dikarenakan berdasarkan data pada observasi awal pembelajaran di lapangan, terdapat beberapa siswa yang mengalami kesulitan untuk membuat sebuah karangan bebas. Kemampuan menulis erat kaitannya dengan kegiatan literasi salah satunya literasi Visual. Pada penelitian ini, siswa slow learner kelas III sekolah dasar diberikan pembelajaran oleh guru kelas pada mata pelajaran tematik bahasa indonesia kelas III dengan tema menjaga kelestarian lingkungan, dengan pedoman utama perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dimodifikasi oleh guru dengan penggunaan media- media literasi visual diantaranya tayangan power point, tayangan video pembelajaran lingkungan sekitar dan media lingkungan langsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen single subject research. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa program pembelajaran individual berbasis literasi dini tersebut valid dan efektif. Data tersebut membuktikan bahwa modifikasi perangkat pembelajaran berbasis literasi visual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis posa bagi siswa kelas III yang mengalami keterlambatan dalam belajar (slow learner) di sekolah dasar secara lebih signifikan.---Slow students learn (slow learner) is a category of students during the mid or transition between normal students with students special needs "(Burton in Sudrajat: 2013). In ability potential, such students can be improved academic achievement with to given special treatment by the teacher in the process of learning. In this study, focused on the student's ability to write prose slow learner,because according to data on initial observations of learning in the field, there are some students who have difficulties to make a bouquet free. The ability to write is closely related to the activities of one literacy Visual literacy. In this study, the students slow learner third grade primary school teaching given by classroom teachers on the subjects of Indonesian thematic class III with the theme of preserving the environment, with the main guidelines of learning tools that have been modified by the teacher with the use of visual literacy among tools display powerpoint, view instructional videos about the environment and environmental media directly. This study uses astudy. single subject experimental research. The result showed that the individualized education program based early literacy is valid and effective. The data prove that a modified device based learning visual literacy can improve the ability to write posa for third grade students who experience delays in learning (slow learner) in elementary school are more significant.
