Abstract

This study aims to develop the didactic design of the concept of sine and cosine rules based on the existence of obstacle learning experienced by grade X high school students. There are several obstacle learning which are identified as ontogenic obstacle, epistemological obstacle, and didactical obstacle. Ontogenic obstacle can be seen from the understanding of the concept of student prerequisites that are still lacking. Epistemological obstacle occurs because of the limited knowledge possessed by students in applying the understanding of the concept of sine and cosine rules on other mathematical concepts. Didactical obstacles can be identified from the understanding of students who prefer procedural knowledge. This can be seen from the understanding of students who more memorize the formula of sine and cosine rules that teachers teach. This research is didactical design research. The didactic design that has been developed is implemented to the X grade students in one of the high schools in Subang. The results show that didactic design can be one of the design alternatives that can minimize the emergence of learning obstacle with attention to the learning trajectory of students.
