Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini berdasarkan fakta bahwa miskonsepsi banyak dialami oleh siswa khususnya materi fluida statis. Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan siswa mengalami miskonsepsi, salah satunya adalah strategi mengajar yang diterapkan masih berpusat pada guru (teacher centred). Dalam hal ini, guru harus menggunakan strategi yang dapat meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa. Salah satu strategi pembelajaran yang dapat meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa adalah strategi PDEODE*E. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang penurunan kuantitas miskonsepsi siswa terkait konsep fluida statis dengan penerapan strategi predict-discuss-explain-observe-discuss-explore-explain (PDEODE*E) dan penerapan strategi predict-observe-explain (POE). Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan desain control group pretest-posttest design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA pada salah satu MA di Kabupaten Purbalingga semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017 dengan sampel sebanyak dua kelas yang dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling class. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes diagnostik konsepsi dengan format three tier test (TTT) yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan treatment untuk mengukur penurunan kuantitas siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi dan skala sikap untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan strategi PDEODE*E pada materi fluida statis. Keadaan konsepsi siswa dianalisis dengan teknik analisis kombinasi jawaban pada three tier test (TTT) menurut Kaltakçi & Didiş. Penurunan kuantitas siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi dihitung dengan rumus penurunan kuantitas siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi (PKM) yang dibuat berdasarkan adaptasi dari nilai gain yang dinormalisasi Hake. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat penurunan kuantitas siswa yang miskonsepsi pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pada kelas eksperimen, sebagian besar konsep fluida statis yang ditinjau mengalami penurunan kuantitas miskonsepsi dengan kategori tinggi dan beberapa konsep mengalami penurunan kuantitas miskonsepsi dengan kategori sedang. Sedangkan Pada kelas kontrol, sebagian besar konsep fluida statis yang ditinjau mengalami penurunan kuantitas miskonsepsi dengan kategori sedang dan beberapa konsep mengalami penurunan kuantitas miskonsepsi dengan kategori tinggi. Disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi PDEODE*E dapat menurunkan kuantitas siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi dan siswa memberikan tanggapan yang baik terhadap penerapan strategi PDEODE*E.---- The background of this research based on the fact that misconception have been experienced by the students especially about fluid static material. Many factors caused student gain misconception, one of it is teaching strategy implemented by using teacher centered. In this case, teacher should use a strategy which could remediated student misconception. One of learning strategies that would remediated student misconception is PDEODE*E strategy. This research aims to gain description of decreasing student misconception quantity related to fluid static concept with the implementing of predict-discuss-explain-observe-discuss-explore-explain (PDEODE*E) strategy and predict-observe-explain (POE) strategy. This research conducted using quasi experimental method with control group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was whole students’ of class XI Science on one of MA in Purbalingga regency which in even semester of 2016/2017 school year with the sample of two classes that has been chosen by simple random sampling class technique. The instrument of collecting data uses diagnostic conception test with three tier test (TTT) format which given before and after treatment was conducting to measure student quantity decreased which experienced the misconception and attitude scale to find out students’ responses toward implementing PDEODE*E strategy on fluid static material. The situation of student conception analyzed by combination of answer analysis technique on three tier test (TTT) according to Kaltakci & Didis. The decreasing of students’ quantity experienced misconception was calculated by the formula of decreasing students’ quantity experienced misconception (PKM) which was created based on the adaptation of value gain normalized by Hake. The result of this research showed there is decreasing students’ quantity which misconception on experiment class and control class. In experiment class, most of fluid static concepts reviewed have decreased in quantity of misconception with high category and some of concepts have decreased in quantity of misconception with medium category. However, on control class most of fluid static concepts reviewed have decreased in quantity of misconception with medium category and some of concepts have decreased in quantity of misconception with high category. It can be concluded that the implementation of PDEODE*E strategy can decrease student quantity which experienced misconception and students provide well responses in implementation of PDEODE*E strategy.
