    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh hasil pengamatan pada peserta
    didik kelas IV salah satu sekolah dasar di kota Bandung. Hasil pengamatan
    menunjukan dalam pembelajaran matematika 60.6% dari 33 orang peserta didik
    memiliki hasil belajar rendah yang belum mencapai KKM sebesar 70.
    Rendahnya pemahaman konsep menjadi faktor penyebab peserta didik memiliki
    hasil belajar yang rendah dalam pembelajaran matematika. Berdasarkan masalah
    tersebut, penelitian ini menerapkan model cooperative learning tipe STAD
    dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan
    untuk mengetahui: (1) Penerapan model cooperative learning tipe STAD dalam
    meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika. (2) Peningkatan hasil belajar
    matematika peserta didik dengan menggunakan model cooperative learning tipe
    STAD. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan
    Kelas (PTK) dengan model yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart
    dan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian pada siklus I menunjukan
    persentase pemahaman konsep matematika sebesar 75.76% dengan persentase
    ketuntasan belajar sebesar 57.6%. Kemudian mengalami peningkatan pada
    siklus II dengan persentase pemahaman konsep matematika sebesar 90.91%
    dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar sebesar 87.9%. Berdasarkan hasil
    penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model cooperative
    learning tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika di
    kelas IV.----------This researvh is motivated by the result of observation at the 4 th grade
    student at one of elementary school in Bandung. The result tell that in
    mathematic learning, 60.6% of 33 students have the low rate result which isn’t
    reach KKM at 70. The low rate of comprehension in mathematic concept
    becomes one of factor why the students get the low rate result in mathematic.
    According to those problems, this research applying cooperative learning model
    type STAD to improve the comprehension of mathematic concept. This research
    aims to know about: (1) application of cooperative learning type STAD to
    improve the comprehension of mathematic concept; (2) the increasement the
    result of mathematic learning of student using cooperative learning model type
    STAD. The method that used in this research is Kemmis and Mc Taggart model
    that held in two cycles. The result at cycle I shosws the percentage of
    comprehension in mathematic concept at 75.76% with the percentage of
    learning attainment at 57.6%. Then, it gets the improvement in cycle II with the
    percentage of comprehension in mathematic concept at 90.91% with the
    percentage of learning attainment at 87.9%. According that research resut, it
    could conclude that the application of cooperative learning model type STAD
    could improve the comprehension in mathematic concept in 4 th grade students.
