    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa kelas IV dalam mengungkapkan ide atau gagasannya secara lisan masih tersendat-sendat lalu ketika mengungkapkan ide atau gagasannya secara tertulis masih menggunakan susunan kalimat yang rancu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendiskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi siswa secara lisan dan tertulis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) Model Kemmis dan Mctaggart dengan dua siklus dan setiap siklusnya terdiri dari empat tahap penelitian yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaa, observasi, dan refleksi. Pada siklus I diperoleh hasil rata-rata untuk kemampuan komunikasi lisan sebesar 72,3 dengan presentase ketuntasan sebesar 60% dan untuk kemampuan komunikasi tertulis sebesar 75,3 dengan presentase sebesar 76%. Pada siklus II diperoleh hasil rata-rata untuk kemampuan komunikasi lisan sebesar 88 dengan presentase sebesar 92% dan untuk kemampuan komunikasi tertulis sebesar 87,7 dengan presentase sebesar 92%. Dari data tersebut yang telah diperoleh selama penelitian telah menunjukan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi siswa secara lisan dan tertulis dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think talk write (TTW) pada siswa kelas IV. Maka dari itu, diharapkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa dapat terasah lebih baik lagi.
    This research is motivated by the difficulties of fourth grade students in expressing ideas or ideas verbally still stagnant then when expressing ideas or ideas in writing still use an ambiguous sentence arrangement. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of students' communication skills orally and in writing. This research was conducted using Classroom Action Research Method (PTK) Kemmis and Mctaggart Model with two cycles and each cycle consists of four stages of research that is planning, execution, observation, and reflection. In cycle I obtained the average results for oral communication skills of 72.3 with a percentage of completeness of 60% and for written communication ability of 75.3 with a percentage of 76%. In cycle II obtained the average results for oral communication ability of 88 with a percentage of 92% and for written communication ability of 87.7 with a percentage of 92%. From the data that has been obtained during the research has shown the improvement of students' communication skills both orally and in writing by applying cooperative learning model of think talk write (TTW) type in grade 4 students. Therefore, it is expected that students' communication skills can be honed better.
