Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan environmental literacy dalam waste paper recycling siswa kelas IVC SDN 02 Jayagiri Lembang. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 27 siswa kelas IVC SDN 02 Jayagiri Lembang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan nontes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknis analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terjadi peningkatan environmental literacy yang meliputi peningkatan aspek pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan. Peningkatan pengetahuan siswa memperoleh rata-rata kelas sangat baik dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sangat tinggi. Kesadaran dan keterampilan siswa siklus I memperoleh rerata jumlah skor dengan kategori cukup, meningkat pada siklus II menjadi kategori baik, dan pada siklus III meningkat menjadi kategori sangat baik. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan environmental literacy dalam waste paper recycling siswa kelas IVC SDN 02 Jayagiri Lembang. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini yaitu perlunya keberlanjutan dalam meningkatkan environmental literacy siswa melalui kegiatan pembelajaran maupun pembiasaan di sekolah. ----------- This study aims to improve environmental literacy in waste paper recycling of the student of class IVC SDN 02 Jayagiri Lembang. The design used for this study is a classroom action research consisting of four stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study consisted of three cycles. The subjects of this study were 27 students of class IVC SDN 02 Jayagiri Lembang. Techniques of collecting data are using test and non-test technique. Quantitative and qualitative descriptive technical analysis are used for data analysis techniques. The results showed that there was an increase in environmental literacy. Students' knowledge obtained the average of very good score with high percentage of classical completeness. Students' awareness and skill obtained enough category in first cycle, increased on the second cycle by obtaining good category, and in the third cycle increased to very good category. The conclusion of this research is Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve environmental literacy in waste paper recycling of students from class IVC SDN 02 Jayagiri Lembang. The recommendation from this research is the need of sustainability in improving the students environmental literacy trough the learning activities and the habitual in the school.
