Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sulitnya siswa kelas I SDN SRM dalam memecahkan soal cerita matematika. Hal ini dikarenakan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika umumnya guru menerapkan metode ceramah dengan cara memberi contoh dan latihan menyelesaikan soal yang bersifat prosedural tanpa mengaitkan kepada konteks realita kehidupan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas I SD dalam memecahkan soal cerita matematika. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Tindakan dengan dua siklus dan setiap siklusnya terdiri dari 4 tahap penelitian yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kelas pada siklus I sebesar 73,5 dengan presentase ketuntasan belajar 60%. Pada siklus II mengalami kenaikan rata-rata kelas menjadi 90,5 dengan presentase ketuntasan belajar 92%. Berdasarkan data diatas, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual memiliki dampak positif dalam peningkatan kemampuan siswa kelas I SD dalam memecahkan ] soal cerita matematika. -------- This research is motivated by the difficulty of first grade students in solving on math stories. This is because in the process of learning mathematics teachers implement method by giving examples and exercises to solve that are procedural without linking to the context of the reality of student life. This study aims to describe the implementation of contextual approach to improve the ability of students in grade I SD in solving on math stories. The research is done by using Classroom Action Research Method of Kemmis Model and McTaggart Model. Action is done two cycles, As for each cycle consists of 4 stages of research that is planning, execution, observation, and reflection. The results showed the average class score in cycle I which is 73,5 with 60% completeness study percentage. In the second cycle has increased the average class score to 90.5 with a percentage of 92% learning completeness. Based on the above data, it can be concluded that the implementation of contextual approach can improving the ability of students in grade I SDN SRM in solving problems on math stories.
