Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah perbandingan peningkatan kecerdasan logis matematis siswa SMP antara yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas VII tahun ajaran 2016/2017 di salah satu SMP Negeri di kota Bandung. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 66 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan ini berupa instrumen tes kecerdasan logis matematis yang terdiri dari lima soal. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil tes tersebut berupa data kuantitatif yang kemudian dikumpulkan dan dianalisis. Analisis statistik data menggunakan uji independent sample t test dan uji Mann-Whitney. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah peningkatan kecerdasan logis matematis siswa SMP yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa SMP yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning. Kata kunci: Kecerdasan logis matematis, model problem based learning, model discovery learning. The study aims to comparing increasing of logical-mathematical intelligence between student who obtained learning by problem based learning model and discovery learning model. This study used a quasi-experimental design which the subject consist of two class of seventh grade students of a Junior High School in Bandung in the 2016/2017 school year, but the sample of this study is 66 students only. Data is collected from tests of logic-mathematical intelligence, data is obtained from these tests can be quantitative data. Analyzing data use independent sample-t test and Mann-Whitney test. Result of this research indicate that increasing of logical-mathematical intelligence of students who obstained learning by problem based learning were higher than students who obtained learning by discovery learning.
