Abstract
Penelitian yang berjudul "Efektivitas Pendekatan Saintifik dalam Pembelajaran Matematika SMP" merupakan penelitian kualitatif design research yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas VIII pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Pendekatan Saintifik dalam pembelajaran matematika berdasarkan implementasi komponen Pendekatan Saintifik serta untuk mengatasi kesulitan dan miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes. Penelitian dimulai dengan menyusun Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) yang menghasilkan bahan ajar dengan Pendekatan Saintifik, yang selanjutnya diimplementasikan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Kemudian, dilakukan tes akhir pada akhir pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa aktivitas guru dalam mengelola kelas dan aktivitas siswa dikategorikan sangat baik pada setiap pertemuannya. Sementara itu, ketuntasan siswa secara klasikal mencapai 30,7%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pendekatan Saintifik dalam pembelajaran matematika belum efektif, karena indikator efektivitas tersebut belum sepenuhnya terpenuhi. Berdasarkan tes akhir juga ditemukan bahwa siswa masih mengalami kesulitan belajar pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan revisi terhadap bahan ajar tersebut. Respons yang ditunjukan terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan Pendekatan Saintifik pada setiap pertemuan secara keseluruhan positif. ;--- The research entitled "The Effectiveness of Scientific Approach in Mathematics Learning for Junior High School" is a qualitative design research conducted through the students of grade VIII in a State Junior High School in West Bandung Regency. The research aims to know the effectiveness of a scientific approach in learning mathematics based on the components of implementation of the scientific approach to overcome the difficulties and misconceptions experienced by the students in the learning material, topic Two Variables Linear Equations System. Data collection techniques were conducted by observation, interview, questionnaire and test. The research started by compiling the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) that produced the teaching materials with the scientific approach, which is then implemented in the learning activities. Thus, the final test was conducted in the end of the lesson. The results showed that teacher’s ability in managing the class and stundent’s activities are categorized very well at every class. Meanwhile, classically, student’s exhaustiveness only reached 30,7%. The results of the research shows that scientific approach in learning mathematics is not effective because the effectiveness indicator is not fully complete. In addition, the final test also found that students still have difficulties in the learning material of Two Variables Linear Equations System. Therefore, the researcher revised toward learning materials. The responses shows that the mathematics learning of scientific approach in each class was positive as a whole.
