Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah yang dihadapi siswa kelas empat di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung. Siswa mengalami kesulitan untuk menulis karangan narasi, selain itu siswa merasa bosan dan kurang bersemangat dalam menulis karangan narasi. Model pembelajaran yang sesuai dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk menulis karangan narasi dan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan narasi siswa. Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan narasi siswa kelas IV. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan model experiental learning dalam pembelajaran karangan narasi dan mendeskripsikan hasil keterampilan menulis siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang didasarkan pada model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 19 siswa kelas IV-B di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri di Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung. Data diolah dengan cara menghitung skor siswa dan mendeskripsikan kategori keterampilan menulis karangan narasi. Penerapan model experiental learning meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan narasi siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Secara khusus, simpulan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Penerapan model experiental learning dalam pembelajaran mempermudah siswa dalam penulisan karangan narasi; (2) Hasil keterampilan menulis karangan narasi siswa meningkat. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata menulis karangan narasi siswa adalah 67,36 dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar 47,36%. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata menulis karangan narasi siswa adalah 86,57 dengan presentase ketuntasan 89,47%. Dengan demikian, penelitian tindakan kelas dapat dijadikan alternatif untuk mengatasi masalah dalam pembelajaran karangan narasi. ;---This research is done based on the problem faced by fourth grade students in one of the public school in Kecamatan Sukasari, Bandung. The students are is troubled when writing narrative and they are unenthusiastic to write narrative. A proper learning model could improve their motivation to write narrative and improve their narrative writing skill. General objective of this research is to improve fourth grade students’ narrative writing skill. Specifically, objective of this research is to describe the implementation of the experiental learning model in narrative writing learning and to describe students’ writing skill grade. Research method here is Class Action Research based on Kemmis and McTaggart’s model which consist of two cycles. The subjects of this research are 19 class B fourth grade students in one of the public school in Kecamatan Sukasari, Bandung. Data is processed by counting students’ score and describing narrative writing category. The implementation of experiental learning improves fourth grade students’ narrative writing skill. Specifically, the conclusion of this research are: (1) the implementation of experiental learning in learning helps students to write narrative; (2) Students’ narrative writing grade improves. In cycle I students’ narrative writing grade is 67,36 which pass percentage is 47,36%. In cycle II students’ narrative writing grade is 86,57 which pass percentage is 89,47%. Therefore, class action research could be an alternative to overcome the problems in narrative writing learning.
