Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena rendahnya kemampuan menyimak siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar khususnya dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia materi cerita pendek. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan oleh siswa yang mendapat nilai diatas Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) 70 hanya sebanyak 45%. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada peningkatan kemampuan menyimak cerita pendek dengan menggunakan pendekatan kooperatif tipe cooperative script, untuk mengetahui gambaran pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan kooperatif tipe cooperative script, dan peningkatan keterampilan menyimak siswa setelah digunakannya pendekatan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe cooperative script. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi dalam II siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V (lima) Sekolah Dasar (SD) yang berjumlah 43 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dan tes. Hasil penilaian terhadap kemampuan menyimak siswa kelas V didapatkan data nilai rata-rata pada siklus I sebesar 47,67 dengan ketuntasan 47,1%, dan meningkat pada siklus II yaitu menjadi 79,65 dengan ketuntasan 79,95%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penggunaan pendekatan kooperatif tipe cooperative script dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak siswa. Maka dari itu, diharapkan pendekatan kooperatif tipe cooperative script dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya dalam keterampilan menyimak, maupun dalam mata pelajaran yang lainnya. ;---The background of this research is the weakness of fifth grade students’ elementary school listening ability, especially in Indonesian short stories subject. There were just 45% of students who got the grade over the minimum criteria of standard (KKM) which is 70. This research is focused on increasing students’ listening ability in short story by using the cooperative approach (cooperative script), to know the implementation of students’ listening ability after using coopertative script approach and the result after using this approach. The method in this research is using classroom activity research (PTK) that is adopted from Kemmis and Mc.Taggart with steps plan, act, observe, and reflect in two cycles. The subject is the fifth grade of elementary school which consist of 43 students. The data collection of this research is by using observation and test. The average result in the cycle I is 46.67 and has reached 47,1%, and average increased in the cycle II 79.65 for 79,95%. Based on those result, the use of cooperative script approach in improving students’ listening ability is effective. Therefore cooperative script is suggested to use in teaching and learning Indonesian subject especially in listening and other subjects.
