Abstract

Penelitian ini berlandaskan fenomena yang terjadi di lapangan yakni tentang motivasi berprestasi yang kurang pada siswa underachieving gifted. Hal ini terlihat dari rendahnya prestasi belajar dan semangat yang rendah dalam proses belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas layanan bimbingan belajar dalam meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi siswa underachieving gifted di SMA Negeri 4 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pre-experimental. Teknik pengukurannya dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan layanan bimbingan belajar. Pengumpulan data melalui angket motivasi berprestasi, sedangkan sampelnya diambil secara purposive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan pada aspek dan indikator motivasi berprestasi siswa underachieving gifted. Penelitian ini direkomendasikan kepada kepala sekolah, guru bimbingan dan konseling, dan orangtua, sebagai salah satu upaya untuk memahami dan meningkatakan motivasi berprestasi siswa underachieving gifted. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya agar menambah durasi serta memperhatikan kondisi siswa pada saat pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan belajar.;--- The research is based by phenomenon in the field about lack of achievement motivation of underachieving gifted student. This can be seen from the low learning achievement and no enthusiasm in the learning process. The aim of this research is to determine effectiveness of learning counseling to improve achievement motivation of underachieving gifted student in SMAN 4 Bandung. This research employed quantitative approach with pre-experimental design. The measurement techniques were performed before and after learning counseling. Data were collected through tests and daily journals filled after finished learning counseling, while the sample was taken purposively. The results showed that a significant increase on the aspects and indicators of achievement motivation underachieving gifted students. This study was recommended to principals, counselors, and parents, as part of efforts to understand and to improve their achievement motivation underachieving gifted students. For the next researchers in order to increase the duration and to pay attention the conditions of the students at the time of learning counseling.
