Abstract

;--- This research was based on the lack of mathematical ability of inductive reasoning of Junior High School students in Bandung. Reasoning ability is one of the capabilities that needs to be developed. Therefore, there should be an effort to enhance the students’ ability in mathematical inductive reasoning. One of the efforts that should be done is to use appropriate learning models. The aims of this research are to identify the achievement and the enhancement of mathematical inductive reasoning between students who obtained Connected Mathematics Project model with Hypnoteaching methods (CMP-H) and students who obtained conventional learning. The method used is a quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research was all students of VIIIth grader in one of Junior High Schools in Bandung in second semester of academic year 2015/2016 with two random class samples. The experiments group was given CMP-H and control group was given conventional learning. The instruments used in this research consist of test instrument (pretest and posttest) to measure the students’ ability in mathematical inductive reasoning and nontest instruments to measure students’ attitudes using questionnaire, interview and observation sheet activities of teacher and students. The result shows that: (1) Mathematical inductive reasoning skills students who worked under the CMP-H learning is better than the students who worked under the conventional learning; (2) The enhancement of students’ mathematical inductive reasoning who worked under CMP-H learning is the same as students who worked under conventional learning in term of the whole student; (3) The enhancement of students mathematical inductive reasoning who worked under CMP-H learning is better than students who worked under conventional learning in term of high KAM and the enhancement of students mathematical inductive reasoning who worked under CMP-H learning is the same as students who worked under conventional learning in term of medium and low KAM; (4) Most of the students give positive response to the CMP-H learning.
