Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) mengenai penerapan model discovery learning untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 10 orang siswa kelas V di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Sukajadi Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui proses pembelajaran model discovery learning di kelas V SD pada pembelajaran IPA; (2) mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas belajar di kelas V SD pada pembelajaran IPA; (3) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa di kelas V SD pada pembelajaran IPA. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPA pada pokok bahasan Sifat-sifat Cahaya. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang mengadaptasi dari model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi dengan dua siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar observasi kegiatan belajar mengajar, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan tes evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA. Hal ini dibuktikan dari persentase aktivitas belajar siklus I sebesar 75% mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 83,3% dan hasil belajar pada siklus I ketuntasan belajar mencapai 40% dengan nilai rata-rata 66 dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 90% dengan rata-rata 76. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.; The research is the research action class (PTK) concerning the application of the model of discovery learning activities to enhance student learning and outcomes. The subject of the research is 10 people grade V in one elementary school in Kecamatan Sukajadi Bandung. This research aims to (1) find out the learning process model of discovery learning in class V SD on learning the IPA; (2) know the improvement of learning activities in class V SD learning IPA; (3) find out the increase in student learning outcomes in grades V SD learning IPA. The implementation of this event will be based on research by the low level of activity and outcomes of learning IPA on the subject of the properties of light. Based on these problems, then do Research Action class (Classroom Action Research) who adapted from models of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which consists of four stages, that is: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection with two cycles. The instruments used in this study i.e., the observation sheet teaching and learning activities, observation sheet activity of students, and the test evaluation. Research results showed improvement against the activity of the student learning outcomes and on learning the IPA. This is evidenced from the percentage of learning activities cycle I of 75% experienced an increase in cycle II becomes 83.3% and the results of the study on cycle I completeness learned to achieve 40% with an average score of 66 and rise in cycle II becomes 90% with an average of 76. From these results it can be concluded that the model of discovery learning can improve the activity and results of student learning.
